Avoid the Sistine Chapel

This was a terrible tour. The problem stems from the nature of the tour, which Through Eternity could control, to the crowds in the Vatican Museum on to the structure of the Sistine Chapel which Eternity Tours cannot control. The Vatican Museum is vast and there are important works of art that many people want to see. The Vatican Museum is more than Michelangelo and the Sistine Chapel. Participants in the tour should be give some choice. If we had to do it over we would eliminate the Chapel and focus on the rest of the museum. The tour guide, spent too much time talking about Michelangelo and therefore we had not time to see Green or Roman art or other great painters from the Renaissance. The goal was the Chapel. The Chapel's ceiling to too high and it it near impossible to distinguish Noah from Snoopy. The crowds are terrible and security is heavy handed. I don't like being treated as cattle lead to the slaughter. I would not report this tour.

Operator response

Thank you for your detailed feedback. We’re disappointed to hear that the focus on the Sistine Chapel detracted from your overall experience, especially given the rich diversity of art throughout the Vatican Museum. It’s clear you would have preferred more time exploring areas like the Roman and Greek collections, and we understand how the crowds and pacing can impact the experience. Your input on offering guests more choice and balance during the tour is valuable, and we’ll be sure to review it closely. Thank you again for sharing your experience.
