Berlin Spy Mission: Self-Guided Cold War Escape Game

Description
Your hat brim is low, your papers are forged, and your pockets hold two very different things: a peace offer and a pistol. You are a spy in Cold War Berlin, on a mission that could end a war or start one, and you are completely on your own. This self-guided outdoor spy escape game takes you through 14 real Berlin locations in around 2 hours. Download the free Questo app, start at Moabit Historical Prison Park, and begin anytime. No guide, no booking required. The mission runs from the former Gestapo prison in Moabit to the Hamburger Bahnhof contemporary art museum, across the Sandkrug Bridge (once a Cold War checkpoint), past the Natural History Museum, the Berlin Wall Memorial, and along Bernauer Strasse where residents once jumped from windows into rescue nets. Decode ciphers, crack codes, and follow a story of betrayal, justice, and reconciliation through one of history's most divided cities. Perfect for history lovers, families, and anyone who enjoys a full-day spy adventure.

Very informative and interestingly designed also the guidance in the app is very well done. Great experience.
The activity was interesting, definitely a different way to take a tour of the city. We enjoyed the challenges but they are quite easy. There were a few issues though like the statue in font of the museum was gone when we went and the instructions to get to the Bible verse was not very clear because there were 2 metal walls and we couldn't find it at all we had to try to guess based on the space. Overall pretty good activity but better to do in spring or summer I think.
Thanks for the detailed feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the concept, but I'm sorry about the missing statue and the unclear clue—we definitely need to update those. Please drop us a line at explore@questoapp.com so we can investigate and send you a free quest to make up for the hiccups.
Very nice moment which allows you to better observe the city. Super responsiveness from the team: we were blocked by work that hid the clue; they respond within a minute. It’s a shame, however, that there’s no possibility of listening rather than reading… so we’re on the phone too much!
We were able to see in Berlin what we wouldn t have normally paid attention to, really informative and interesting. My 12 year old didn t get the point of the story, so maybe some improvement can be done on the narrative. Ine garden was closed on Monday, one cemetery was closed after 155:00, one fountain was covered OSB panel. But we could find the pic on google, and solve the challenge.
Great to hear that Questo helped you discover new things in Berlin! We appreciate your feedback about improving the narrative for younger participants. We apologize for the inconveniences with closed locations, but it's impressive that you found creative solutions. If you're up for more adventures, we're here to guide you. Happy exploring and discovering! 🏞️🕵️♂️📚
We had fantastic fun. The game took around 2.6 hours but we had a leisurely lunch midway through so it ended up taking a large chunk of the day. Can’t believe how well priced the app game is. It took us to areas that we wouldn’t have visited normally and this made our overall trip to Berlin great fun.
Thank you for exploring Berlin with Questo. We appreciate your feedback, and would love to see you playing more games soon.
