Berlin City Tour in a Mini Hotrod

Description
YOU NEED A VALID DRIVER LICENSE! Experience Berlin in the most exciting way while driving Yourself in a street legal mini hotrod past Berlin's main attractions. You quickly become an attraction yourself. The tour starts at the legendary R.A.W. site, which is still the last piece of "real" Berlin and takes you past the Berlin Wall (Eastside Gallery) to Alexanderplatz, via Hackescher Markt, Friedrichstraße, past the Reichstag, Brandenburg Gate, Potsdamer Platz and Gendarmenmarkt. Before we hit the road, you will receive a theoretical and practical briefing on our premises (approx. 10-15 min). Afterwards we will guide you safely and always in formation through the city (approx. 75-80 min). If you want to take a photo, let your guide know and he will take a little photo break. Our tours are uncommented, as the focus is on the road and the driving experience. Safety comes first.

The Brandenburg Gate is a must for every visitor to Berlin. Hardly any other sight is on so many tourist selfies as the great sandstone gate in the heart of the city. It was built in the years 1788 to 1791. We will make a short brake at this spot. It is possible to take a picture.
Potsdamer Platz was redeveloped after reunification. Between the skyscrapers are cafes, cinemas and shopping facilities that are used by Berliners and tourists alike. Historically, the first traffic lights in Europe are located on Potsdamer Platz.

My recent trip to Berlin was a surprise birthday gift for my Dad's 60th, and we both very much agreed that this experience was the pinnacle of our visit!! If we only came to Berlin for this tour, it would have been a worthwhile trip. The tour is just excellent 👌 Lala, our instructor, was clear and performed her role perfectly. Her hand signalling, attention to detail, hazard perception, just everything was on point 👏 The route is so well mapped out, giving a complete journey through the city, taking in different roads, twists and turns. With only a 3-day visit, we knew we wouldn't have time to see all of Berlin, well this tour certainly sorted that for us. We were told from the start, this is not a talking tour, and I'm glad it wasn't. As an avid car enthusiast, this is about the mini hotrod experience, they are just sooo cool and fun to drive. Yes, you do see the landmarks, and you do get a picturesque photo stop taking in the TV tower, but it's not lots of stops. All the better for it as far as we were concerned, we just didnt want to get out of the hotrods! 1.5hrs went too fast, I would've been happy to continue for the rest of the day! This was the highlight of our trip, and I am so happy I got to have such an amazing experience with my dad. I'd have gladly payed double. We were seriously considering paying to join the next tour, and probably would have if we didnt have other plans. Thanks so much to the Hotrod Berlin team, you're helping to make magical memories for your customers ❤️
Amazing experience driving through the streets of Berlin. Don’t think twice just book it
Incredibly fun activity! **However, I would not recommend if you wanted a guided experience through Berlin with a 'narrator' of the city. That being said, this was the highlight of a 10-day city trip throughout Europe. Everyone throughout the city was very excited to see us driving in these small vehicles.
Such a fabulous and fun experience, definitely my favourite thing to do. Our guide made the experience fun and took photos for us
Thanks Laura! It’s always lovely for us to hear that customers have had a great experience with our hot rods.
We had almost no tuition before setting off onto the busy Berlin roads. They are very small go cart like “cars” and pretty scary as lorries and buses whizzed by. We were told to stay in a “formation” but as there were 8 of us in total that was very difficult. The guides got progressively more annoyed and eventually stopped the “tour” an hour early. No question of a refund and in all honesty wish we had not booked in the first place.
Hello David Campbell. Yes, you’re right – this tour was a disaster. One participant in your group turned up wearing sandals, even though we explicitly ask for sturdy footwear everywhere. We were kind enough to let Vivienne Monagham take part anyway. Within a few minutes, she caused a crash and damaged two Hotrods. Here, too, we turned a blind eye once again and let her carry on. To top it all off, your group repeatedly flouted the traffic rules despite being warned several times. The tour was therefore cancelled for safety reasons. The fact that you’ve given us such a negative review, after behaving so badly yourselves, says a lot about your character. I hope we never see you again.
If you’re looking to have just a fun time driving around Berlin and seeing the sites…this is the thing to do. The guides taught us how to work the mini hot rods, explained how to stagger on the road when we drive, and always made sure we stayed together as a group. This was one of my favorite tours. If you’re looking to stop and take pics at the sights though this isn’t the thing for you. Just drive the streets and have a blast
The activity was organised very well and it was a great way to see the city. The Hotrods are fun to drive and pretty nippy but they have no suspension so you do feel every bump on the road. The steering is also super sensitive but that added to the fun for me!
Complete fraud - because we are travelling internationally, we only brought a photo of our drivers license and not a hard copy. (Our fault for sure) Realizing we didn’t have a hard copy of the license, we called ahead to ask if we could still participate with photos of our drivers license - the answer was no. What bothers me the most was that there was zero refund, not even an attempt to refund some of the $400 Canadian that we paid for zero service.. they kept $400 and they did nothing .. not one darn thing. No service services were given and no service services were received but yet they kept all $400.. they chose not to see past their greed to just do the right thing. This is greed at it’s finest and I am deeply disappointed in both Viator and the tour operators… I understand that we needed the drivers license, but they could’ve done a partial refund, they could’ve done anything, but they chose just to be greedy and keep the money and never return my calls. I would never recommend this tour or the owners of the operation because of their pure greed and disassociation with doing the right thing. Gross.
I’m sorry to hear about your experience. But this isn’t a fraud or has something to do with greed; we’re simply adhering to the law (the requirement for a driving licence) and our cancellation policy. If you cancel one day in advance, you’ll receive a 100 per cent refund. However, you cancelled at extremely short notice, meaning our staff were already on site and no one else could have booked the vehicles. Consequently, we incur actual costs and would not have been able to recoup the lost revenue.
The gentlemen on site were very friendly, knowledgeable, and definitely in a good mood, as one of the gentlemen guided us through the city, and that was super fun, interesting, and I would do it again anytime. I can only recommend it; an adventure like no other.
Vielen Dank für das positive Feedback! Wenn man mit Mini Hotrods durch Berlin fahren seinen Job nennen darf, ist man immer gut drauf! :D
This was a BLAST! My face hurt at the end of the trip because I was laughing and smiling SO much! The roads can be a bit bumpy but that just adds to the adventure. Speedy little cars with super responsive steering. People stopped to watch and wave at us. As my travel buddy said, "Everyone wants to do this but most are too chicken to try it." I'm SO glad we did this because it was super fun and exciting! Do it! You don't want to miss out on this experience!!
Thank you so much! That really warms the heart! That’s why we love this job!
