Barolo Wine Tour

Description
The Barolo wine tour from Alba begins with a scenic drive on the most panoramic wine routes of Piedmont, winding through eleven municipalities where Nebbiolo grapes are entitled to become Barolo wine. Take in stunning views of the Langhe hills, in the Piedmont region of Italy: a vineyard-covered landscape dotted with medieval towers, castles and quaint hamlets. Continue to a boutique Barolo wine cellar where the owner or the wine maker takes you inside the aging room. Enjoy a premium tasting of 4-5 wines, comparing different types of Barolo wine and the evolution of Nebbiolo grapes cultivated on different hillsides. In the end, take a stroll in the town of Barolo or another one of the region, wandering around wine shops and soak up the slow-paced Italian lifestyle.

This was my second tour with MeetPiemonte, with a third scheduled. Tour managers are knowledgeable and always available to assist. The pace is terrific, allowing shopping/personal time mixed with activity time. The offer of extra experience is always included; we chose to climb the Leaning Tower of Piza. It was a memorable! Driving up a Carrara mountain of marble felt like a Disney ride, but much more fun! Wow, those quarries are gorgeous!! I return home exhausted and full of beautiful memories. Don’t hesitate! Book the trip! Ciao!
We just returned home from our second tour with Marco and are already looking forward to booking our next one! If you’re searching for a small group experience with an incredibly knowledgeable and passionate guide, Marco is the perfect choice. We can't say enough good things about Meet Piemonte and highly recommend them for your next trip to Italy!
Giovanni was an amazing guide for this tour. He is very knowledgeable about wine-making, grape varieties, and this area in which he lives. We learned about the history of the Langhe, the soil types and we had 3 excellent tastings at small, very capable wineries. We highly recommend Giovanni and this tour!
My 5 star rating goes beyond the Barolo Wine Tour, because we did so much more with Meet Piemonte. Every activity was superlative: Truffle Hunting, Barbaresco Wine & Cheese Tasting, local transfer/ transport service and Piemonte Cooking Class. All activities were curated, arranged and supervised to perfection by Marco, Fanny, Alessandra and everyone at Meet Piemonte. Everything went flawlessly starting with their replies to my initial inquiry to completion of the activities. Meet Piemonte provided patient, thorough, careful and clear communication throughout the booking process and tour operation. (In our case: in English.) By paying attention to our priorities, Meet Piemonte adjusted our itinerary to meet and exceed our desires.
Incredible — we actually were running late and having trouble getting in touch with our guide, Marco. He took extra effort to find a way to reach out to us and was very kind and understanding. We actually missed the first part of the tour, but the second half was very informative with great wines to try!
Our tour with Meet Piemonte exceeded every expectation. From start to finish, the experience was seamless, professional, and incredibly well-organized. Our guide was knowledgeable and personable, sharing fascinating insights about the region’s history, culture, and cuisine. Every stop felt thoughtfully chosen — from charming hilltop towns to hidden local gems — and the pacing was perfect, allowing us to truly enjoy each moment without feeling rushed. The food and wine experiences were outstanding, showcasing the authentic flavors of Piemonte and introducing us to local producers we never would have found on our own. It’s clear the team at Meet Piemonte takes great pride in what they do and genuinely cares about creating memorable, high-quality experiences for their guests. I would highly recommend Meet Piemonte to anyone looking to explore this beautiful region with expert guidance and a personal touch. We’re already planning to book with them again on our next visit!
We had an amazing day with Meet Piemonte! It started with a fantastic Barolo tasting at Costa dei Bussi – a stunning estate with exceptional wines and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Afterwards, we went on a truffle hunt with Enrico and his dog Nina, which was just as incredible. Authentic, fun, and full of passion. A perfect experience to discover the true spirit of Piedmont – highly recommended!
We were very fortunate to have Gabriele as our guide . Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable but he was also very flexible and made sure that we saw what interested us most and learnt about the things we were most curious about. He suggested places to visit and to eat for the remainder of our stay in Alba and even gave us recommendations for Turin, our next stop. The wine tasting was a great fun! It was a wonderful afternoon. Our thanks to him
Marc was a great tour guide, took us to some great spots, gave us some great history and back ground. Was very easy to speak with and bussia tour was great.
Fabulous tour! Our guide was very knowledgeable about the region and wines! The views were amazing and we really enjoyed walking around several villages in the Barolo region. Highly recommend!
