Description
You will discover Bari and its identity, in the alleys animated by the simple and genuine life of its inhabitants. You will eat local specialties like sgagliozze (sliced, fried polenta). You will discover hidden corners and details that you could not see on your own, but which will make you appreciate the city and its history even more. Between a story and a look upwards, you will stop to delight the palate with local specialties, such as a piece of tomato focaccia accompanied by a cold beer, that cannot be missing! We won't spoil each tasting, but save room and keep space for a surprising dessert!

Our accredited local guide will take you to discovery "Bari Vecchia", in the alleys where old ladies, everyday, make kilos of "orecchiette" and you will see how they do! Do you want to try?
Visit the basilica inside, to marvel in front of its interiors, with the play of light that enters from the rose windows and lights up the white stone.
In addition to the basilica, the guide will take you to visit the crypt, where the relics of the saint of Mira are kept, much revered by Orthodox Christians.
Admire the splendid views of the sea from the walls of the old city. Beautiful view both with the sun and with the stormy sea on cold winter days.

Loved our tour with Mara! We were in Bari only for a short time, so really valued hitting all the Bari food highlights in one evening. The just baked focaccia was the top and sgaglioze a surprise! Mara was a great host and we enjoyed chatting with her about food, history and all things in Bari. The tour was very relaxed and set at a good pace. We really recommend. If you go to Bari don't miss this tour.
The guide was very informative and we learned a lot about the town and history of Bari! However, we went to a private home for a pasta tasting and the hosts seemed very put off and Inconvenienced by our arrival, it was very uncomfortable, not friendly and the food was not good! Bottom line…it was way too much money to spend on this experience!
We had a great tour with our Guide Mara. During the tour we visited the highligts of the old town of Bari, the special shops with local foods, places of worship and learned lots about the history of Bari, people and buildings. The stops to taste food are great! No need to have dinner before or after the tour ;-). We tasted meats, cheeses, bread, wine, snacks, coffee/tea and icecream. Our guide was very knowledgable and a great person!
