Itinerary
You’ll begin your tour at one of the most iconic tapas bars in the city. Serving locals with delicious fare for decades, this spot is a must for any food lover. You’ll sample a perfectly paired aperitif along with a hand-picked selection of cured meats and cheeses. You’ll also try a true classic Spanish potato dish - a perfect introduction to the city’s specialties.
Before or after your introduction to one of Barcelona’s most historic spots (depending on if your tour takes place in the morning or the afternoon), it’s only fitting to take a stroll through the Gothic Quarter. As you weave through its narrow streets, passing Ancient Roman ruins, you’ll travel through a thousand years of history. Your guide will furnish you with the extra details that make the streets truly come to life.
The second tapas bar on our tour opened in 1945 with a menu consisting of four tapas dishes. Naturally, these have been perfected through the years and carefully chosen to exemplify what makes Spanish food unique: simple recipes prepared with the highest quality ingredients.
At your last stop, you’ll be treated to a sit-down meal at a local spot dating back to the early 20th century. Indulge in a classic selection of Catalan dishes such as croquettes and cannelloni paired with local wine, and top it off with a delicious traditional dessert.

Our guide James was super knowledgeable and friendly. The food was excellent and he shared his knowledge of the area. We thought it might be too long but the time flew by.
James was so informative in interesting way. All the right kind of info. Kind, too. Really interesting historical eateries. Eating in an old bookstore! The connection w other chefs worldwide.
Vera was amazing! She gave us a great mix of history, information, recommendations and the food was spectacular!
Our guide, Andrea, was amazing. The food was delicious. And it was an overall great experience. Would absolutely do it again. The small bars and eateries in the gothic district are numerous and a little overwhelming to select on your own. The food tour introduced us to some historical local spots, with authentic atmosphere and traditional bites that make you feel like you got something unique from anything we might get in the states.
We took this private tour with Ariana, who gave us a comprehensive and engaging history of Barcelona. She wound us through the Gotic Quarter’s streets to three long-standing eateries where we enjoyed traditional foods and beverages of Barcelona. Her knowledge was extensive and she shared great stories and legends as well as her love of food. This tour and especially Ariana was one of the best ones we’ve taken. The experience was great from beginning to end. I’d recommend the tour to anyone thinking about it.
