The Grand Palace is Bangkok’s most iconic landmark and a symbol of Thailand’s rich history and royal heritage. Built in 1782, this magnificent complex once served as the royal residence of Thai kings for over 150 years. Within its ornate walls lies Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), the most sacred Buddhist temple in Thailand. With its dazzling golden spires, intricate carvings, and stunning architecture, the Grand Palace remains a must-visit destination for anyone exploring Bangkok.
Located within the Grand Palace complex, Wat Phra Kaew is Thailand’s most sacred Buddhist temple and home to the revered Emerald Buddha, a highly venerated statue carved from a single block of jade. Built in 1782, the temple is renowned for its intricate architecture, vibrant murals, and exquisite golden details that reflect the spiritual and artistic heart of Thai culture. A visit here offers a glimpse into Thailand’s royal and religious heritage.
Wat Pho (the Temple of the Reclining Buddha), or Wat Phra Chetuphon, is right behind the Temple of the Emerald Buddha – it’s a must-see for any first-time visitor to Bangkok. As one of the largest temple complexes in the city, it’s famed for its giant reclining Buddha that is 46 metres long, covered in gold leaf. This an A World Heritage Site
Wat Arun, locally known as Wat Chaeng, is a landmark temple on the west (Thonburi) bank of the Chao Phraya river. It’s easily one of the most stunning temples in Bangkok, not only because of its riverside location but also because the design is very different from the other temples you can visit in the Thai capital. Wat Arun (nicknamed the 'Temple of Dawn') is partly made up of colourfully decorated spires and stands majestically over the water.

Our host Cindy and driver Sam were very nice and really informative. Told us a lot of information about the temples and the king
We had a wonderful time visiting the Temples of Bangkok and learning about their history. Our wonderful guide Nina was a pleasure to have with us. She gave us information and many detail. Just a great must-do experience 😁
I'm so thankful we booked this tour! Nina was the best tour guide, so knowledgeable, so patient, so great with kids! We brought a 5 and 3 year old on the tour and had we not booked the tour we are not have been able to see so many different sites. We would have only been able to see maybe one of the sites if we went on our own. But with Nina she pointed out the best places to take pics, told us all about things about the site we wouldn't have known if we went by ourselves. Nina is the best and I also recommended this tour to all my friends and to anyone who comes to Bankok, especially if you have young kids and want to see the temples! Thank you Nina! We had so much fun! The pics are great too!
Best experience! Mr. Panu was so knowledgeable, patient with our photo taking and really just a good time! He had waters for us and wipes when needed. He was prepared for the day and knew his stuff! Definitely would recommend.
This is such an easy fun way to see three major sights in less than 4 hours. Mr. Panu was friendly, funny and very informative! He took care of me in the heat with water, an umbrella and a battery operated handheld fan. As a solo traveler, I appreciated that Mr. Panu took a lot of pictures of me in every location and suggested fun poses. Half way through the tour, we rode a short distance in a tuk tuk! I really enjoyed that part as it felt safe and fun. For the hotel pickup/drop off and the longer ride between sights, we had the same driver who was prompt! The air conditioning in his vehicle was such a treat.
Thank you so much for your amazing review! We are thrilled to hear that you had such a fun and comfortable experience exploring Bangkok’s iconic landmarks with Mr. Panu. He will be delighted to know that his friendly personality, informative guidance, and thoughtful care — from the water and umbrella to the handheld fan — made your tour even more enjoyable. We’re especially happy that you enjoyed the tuk tuk ride and felt safe and well looked after as a solo traveler. Creating memorable experiences with comfort, fun, and great hospitality is exactly what we aim for. We will also share your kind words with our driver for the smooth transportation and comfortable ride. Thank you again for choosing our Bangkok City Highlights Tour. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back for more adventures in Thailand soon! Warm regards, Sun Leisure World Team
This tour packs a big punch for 1/2-day tour to the temples. If you are short on time in Bangkok this is the tour for you. Nina out tour guide was exceptional, full of information and kept the pace according to your ability. You see all the top temples and even a fun Tuk Tuk ride, she will help with shopping needs and the stop for refreshing Thai Tea (iced cold) is a treat for sure. She provides the transport from location to location, a/c van to ferry to keep the tour moving. Also, she is brilliant at taking those coveted photos we all want to show our friends back home. A trip to Bangkok is not complete until you get an education on those top temples, lots of history! Book it and ask for Nina she will take good care of you. Carole and Paul Burnett
Nina was an excellent guide! She was very sweet, shared a lot of interesting information about the temples and Thai history generally, and even taught us how to ride the subway so we could easily get to our next destination. Would recommend!
A wonderful tour, but just a bit of advice wear pants to the royal palace. It’s required for men. You can buy some really cool pants right around the palace if you forget. Our tour guide Pen was amazing and full of knowledge she has been a tour guide since 1990 so she knows her way around this huge city.
This tour was one of the more disappointing financially. It cost me an additional 100 US on top of the price. They said air conditioned car, that was only to the first place and that was it. I paid transportation costs after that. I did not calculate fast enough or I would have declined the boat ride which came out to 55US. It was not worth the cost and the tour I definately could have done on my own. Just beware.
Dear Venture58250947328, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations. We would like to clarify that the tour you booked is priced competitively and is designed to offer a convenient and guided experience covering Bangkok’s key highlights. When comparing the overall cost of arranging private transport, entrance fees, and logistics independently, the tour generally provides good value. Regarding transportation, the itinerary includes air-conditioned vehicle service as outlined, along with a guided program. The boat ride you mentioned is part of the planned experience and is clearly included in the itinerary to give guests a unique perspective of Bangkok. The cost of this activity is standard and typically comparable to, or lower than, booking it separately. That said, we understand that expectations can differ, and your feedback is important to us. We will review how inclusions and optional elements are communicated to ensure greater clarity for future guests. We appreciate your comments and hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future.
Mr. Panu was knowledgeable and accommodating to myself and my mother throughout the excursion. He provided us with a wealth of knowledge and facts about the historical institutions and Thai culture. We had to worry about nothing and when my elderly mother became a little bit overheated from the heat, he had sun umbrellas and fans at the ready. He even told us where the good shopping was and provided us safely back to our hotel.
