Itinerary

Alright, picture this—you and your crew, road-tripping through some of the most jaw-dropping landscapes in Canada. As you cruise west, the mountains rise around you like nature's skyscrapers, their rugged cliffs looking like something straight out of an adventure film. The air is crisp, the vibe is electric, and you can practically feel the wild calling. The road winds past forests so dense they seem to whisper secrets, and then—boom!—the Bow River appears, snaking through the valley like liquid sapphire. Depending on the season, you might catch patches of snow clinging to the peaks or wildflowers adding pops of color along the roadside. Keep your eyes peeled—this is prime wildlife territory. Spotting a deer? Nice. A bighorn sheep? Even better. An elk casually minding its business? Now, that’s a flex. Of course, we'll do a photo stop if you like!

60 min

And just when you think the views couldn’t possibly get any better, Canmore appears on the horizon — a charming mountain town framed by the iconic Three Sisters peaks standing proudly in the background. Before rolling deeper into the Rockies, you’ll pause here for a relaxed coffee stop, the perfect moment to stretch your legs, breathe in that crisp alpine air, and soak in the scenery. Keep those cameras close, because this stretch is pure cinematic magic.

90 min

it’s the moment the Rockies reveal their soul. This world‑famous lake feels almost unreal when you first see it! In summer, the lake glows with an almost unreal turquoise, fed by glacial melt that shimmers under the sun. Canoes glide across the water like tiny brushstrokes on a vast canvas, and the surrounding peaks rise sharply against a deep blue sky. Wildflowers bloom along the shoreline, and every step reveals a new angle, a new colour, a new moment worth capturing. It’s vibrant, warm, and full of life — the Rockies at their most iconic. In winter, Lake Louise becomes a quiet, snow‑covered wonderland. The turquoise freezes into a smooth, glassy surface perfect for skating, while the Victoria Glacier towers above like a frozen cathedral. Snow‑dusted pines, crisp mountain air, and the soft crunch of fresh powder create a sense of peace that feels almost otherworldly. Whether you’re walking the shoreline, sipping a hot drink, or simply taking in the silence, winter feels magical!

Admission included90 min

Banff has a way of capturing people long before they even reach the mountains — but once you step onto Banff Avenue, the spell is complete. This little alpine town feels like it was designed to charm, inspire, and tempt you into staying just a little longer. In winter, Banff becomes a glowing snow‑globe village. Banff Avenue twinkles with warm lights on fresh snow, hot‑chocolate aromas drift from cafés, and the peaks rise like a painted backdrop. Cozy shops, fireplaces, and festive energy make downtown feel alive — a place to wander, sip something warm, and watch snowflakes fall. In summer, Banff turns into the beating heart of the hiking world. Trail maps unfold on café tables, boots tap on patios, and adventure fills the air. Minutes from iconic trails and turquoise lakes, downtown becomes a lively hub of patios, ice‑cream shops, breweries, and mountain‑view restaurants — the perfect place to unwind after a day outdoors.

60 min

A brief stop at Two Jack Lake feels like stepping into a postcard. Its calm, mirror‑like surface reflects the surrounding peaks so perfectly that you’ll want to pause, breathe, and take it all in. In summer, the water glows with deep blues and greens, framed by wildflowers and towering pines. In winter, the lake transforms into a serene frozen canvas, where silence and snow create a peaceful, almost dreamlike atmosphere. Just minutes away, Lake Minnewanka offers a grander, more dramatic scene. This vast glacial lake stretches between rugged cliffs and rolling forests, a place where wind, water, and mountains meet in spectacular harmony. Summer brings sparkling waves, boat tours, and sweeping views, while winter reveals icy shorelines, frosted trees, and a sense of untouched wilderness. Together, these two lakes offer a perfect taste of Banff’s beauty — quick stops that leave a lasting impression and make your journey feel truly special.

75 min

The drive back to Calgary is a peaceful, scenic unwind from your mountain adventure. As you leave Banff, the towering peaks slowly soften into rolling foothills, giving you one last look at the dramatic silhouettes that defined your day. The Bow River glimmers beside the highway, weaving through forests and open meadows where elk, deer, and bighorn sheep often appear in the quieter hours. With every kilometre, the mountains fade behind you and the wide prairie sky opens ahead — a calm, golden transition that lets you relax and reflect. By the time Calgary’s skyline comes into view, you’ve enjoyed a gentle, beautiful finale to your time in the Rockies, arriving refreshed and filled with memories of the mountains.

Best private tour of Banff Lakes, rivers and mountains

We arranged a private tour through Banff Day Trips, arranging the tour was so easy, Kevin was amazing and tailored the entire day to help us get the most out of the Banff area. Our minivan was very comfortable and Murray our tour guide was excellent, knew his stuff about the area. Murray was happy to help with photos and give us guidance on best place to get those memory shots. There was flexibility around the day and we added in the most exceptional waterfalls at Takakkaw Falls. Murray provided guidance on other things we could do in the area which was really helpful. We would highly recommend the private tour if you want to that flexibility in your day. We had a ball with Murray and if you are lucky enough to have him host your tour you will have a great time. Shout out to Gordon for taking us on the Morraine and Louise Lakes (due to parking restrictions) but again change over before hooking up with Murray again seamless. Thank you to the Team @banffdaytrips we had an amazing day thankyou.

Fun and amazing experience off the bucket list

Kevin was amazing. From pick up to drop off after a fun filled day and stories in between, you are in for quite an adventure. We’re both seniors and slow so we had the choice to remain within our drop off to have coffee and window shop while Kevin and the younger ones took a hike. We saw some wildlife ie wild horses, deer, elk, mountain sheep, etc. The bears were uncooperative today but our experience was more than enough to compensate. Banff, Canmore, Lake Louise was amazing. Next time we’ll bring the whole family along! We highly recommend Banff Day Tours and Kevin! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thanks Rick, great tour!

Great tour by Rick, our driver, who was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and funny to go with it. We had a private minibus for 10 of us, when to Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, Bow Valley Parkway, and a few other viewpoints and lakes. Best way to get around and see a lot of places without worrying about driving, parking, permits etc, and some roads are closed to private cars. Only downside is you fit so much in that time can be limited in any particular place, but that's the trade-off if you want to cover it in a day.

Banff Day Trips

Banff Day Trips was outstanding. Our family of 9 was in the Banff area for a week. We set a one day private tour up with Kevin who was great to work with. Our tour guide, Murray, who was also great, picked us up at our door at 9:30 AM near Ghost Lake, Alberta and we visited Lake Louise, Moraine Lake and Norquay (with chairlift ride). We picked up lunch at a deli in Canmore for the trip. Murray gave us all the time we needed at each location without rushing. Arrived back at the home we were renting for the week at 6:30 PM. We had planned to also stop at Johnston Canyon last, but were too pooped. Visited there on our own a few days later.

Wonderful 2-Day Banff Private Tour with Filipino Guide

We were searching for a Banff Tour Guide company from Calgary when we found this company called Banff Day Trips. Their website mentioned that they can do the tour in Tagalog. So we were sold. We originally booked a one day Private Banff Day Trip for July 19th. The communications with Kevin was excellent. He always made sure that he got back to you in a timely manner. We arrived in Calgary on July 16th and the plan was to spend two days of sightseeing in Calgary on the 17th, 18th and then go do the Banff Day trip on the 19th. However, we completed all the sightseeing we wanted to do in Calgary on the 17th. So on the afternoon of the 17th, we contacted Kevin and told him that we wanted to add an extra day of Banff sightseeing for the 18th which is the very next day, if that was even possible to arrange. Kevin told us to give him a couple of hours to see what he can do. On the evening of the 17th, he got back to us and told us that he had made the arrangements that we wanted for a private tour of Banff with a Tagalog-speaking guide for the 18th in addition to the tour on the 19th that we had previously arranged more than 3 months ago. In a span of a few hours, Kevin was able to arrange their schedules and accommodate us with just a few hours to spare for a private tour for the very next day. He did an awesome job with the arrangements and we ended up with 2 days of a private tour to Banff with a Filipino guide called Melvin. Melvin is an awesome guide, very flexible and accommodating. Being Filipino travelers ourselves, we were able to connect with Melvin and very quickly it was no longer a tour guide to guest relationship. He was like a close friend or family member showing us around. He was very like-able and very friendly. He volunteered to be our personal paparazzi and took lots of photos of us. He even took us to their "secret" locations where you can take wonderful photos that very few tourists know about. We have many wonderful photos taken by Melvin during the 2-day tour and we enjoyed every minute of it. We even had lots of very interesting conversations about living in Canada and life in Canada, especially his own. He gave us some useful tips about driving in Canada since he found out that we were going to be driving to Jasper after our day trips with him. Most important thing, be very careful with driving as there could be "ghost cars" around. These are unmarked police cars in SUV or pickup trucks that look like vehicles driven by ordinary citizens. We highly recommend going with Banff Day Trips and working with Kevin. If you are Filipino travelers, request from Kevin that you want Melvin to be your guide. We are glad that we ended up with a 2-day tour of the Banff area as a one day tour was definitely not going to be enough to see all the wonderful sights that you need to see between Calgary and Lake Louis. If you can stretch the budget a little, going with the 2-day private tour would be the ultimate arrangement. We truly appreciated that Kevin was able to arrange for us an extra private day tour at the last minute. That is truly exceptional customer service.

Stress free vacation

Anton picked us up right on time, took us to our destination (Lake Louise) and was there and waiting for us when we were ready to go. Making our trip so much easier without worrying about parking or anything.

Amazing private tour of Banff!

I just did a private tour with a group of 4 adults and 3 young children. I told them what our priorities were for sightseeing and a timeline of when we wanted to get back to our hotel, and they were more than accommodating! I’ve been to Banff before and have done all the driving myself, but it was so nice to not have to worry about the logistics this time around! We even saw a grizzly bear right at the end of our tour 😊

One of the best tours I've ever been on

Kevin and Banff Day Trips was the highlight of not only our first time in Banff, but might have singlehandedly been one of the best tours we'd ever been on. Kevin, who owns the company, gave us the private tour and did such an outstanding job. You could feel how much Kevin loved Banff, and took us on routes and roads so far away from the tourists, with stunning mountain panoramas and all the wildlife. We saw mountain goats, deer and bears! His attention to detail on the tour, from the music synced to different parts of the journey to make it more epic, to him calling his friend at morant's curve to know the exact time the train was coming and to honk the horn for us... It truly a magical way to start our trip!

Unforgettable experience!

Wow. An unforgettable experience! I booked a trip to Calgary in April and I was keen to get a few excursions in. However, I suffer from anxiety so I wanted a tour with less people. I found Banff National Park Day Trip on the air bnb site. After reading all of the positive reviews, I got In touch with the host, Kevin. I told him about my anxieties and he listened then recommended a private tour where it would me the tour guide, my partner and myself. Although I was still anxious about the drive, Kevin kept in touch and reassured me. On Monday 8th April, our tour guide, Murray arrived to collect us. We had a van all to our selves and Murray immediately made us feel relaxed and at home. As we drove out of Calgary, Murray's quick wit and fun personality put a smile on our faces. His knowledge of the sights sounds and history on the entire tour was phenomenal. When we questioned him about the surrounding nature and history of the towns that we drove through, Murray was able to share fun and interesting facts coupled with his natural sense of humour. The day was tailored perfectly to our needs and we felt very relaxed. Murray unique presentation brought life to our tour. The sights shown were mind blowing and Murray went out of his way to show us hidden gems that we were not expecting to see.
