The bamboo bike was the smoothest and most comfortable bike I’ve ever ridden. We visited several interesting spots like Wenshu Monastery, Sichuan University, Jingli Street, and People’s Park. Tashi was a wonderful guide: he gave easy to follow signals, didn’t ride too fast/slow, and happily answered our questions about life in Chengdu. Given that Chengdu is very flat, the 18km (11mi) that we rode together didn’t feel strenuous at all. In addition to the positive experience we had with Tashi, Chengdu’s bike infrastructure is so good (plentiful protected bike lanes + widely available / affordable bike rentals) that we felt comfortable enough to rent city bikes a few times in the days following our tour.
We're thrilled you enjoyed the time with Tashi! And so happy to hear the cycling experience was just what you were looking for! Thanks for the kind review!
I was in Chengdu for a week and this tour definitely was the best way to see the city. Riding the bamboo bikes is so much fun!
Cheers Breydan - You and your friends are welcome back anytime!
Such a good time! I felt welcomed right away by the staff. I loved getting to learn about their handmade bamboo building process. It’s so unique and you can tell they really care about what they do. The ride itself was a great mix, cruising through downtown Chengdu and then along the Jinjiang River where it got quieter and more scenic. It never felt rushed, just really well balanced. Such a fun experience. Would 100% recommend if you’re in Chengdu!!
It was great hosting you guys! Glad you had such amazing weather too! :-)
Awesome experience, the bikes are well engineered and very comfortable to ride. Great for a day trip out in the city with family or friends
Thanks for the feedback! Please come again! :-)
Starting at AbuSolutely, I felt welcomed by the staff’s smiles while I learned about their unique hand-made bamboo building process: both bikes and trekking poles! Then, I enjoyed our diverse tour of riding through downtown Chengdu as we rode by the Wide & Narrow Alleys (Kuan & Zhai Alleys) as well as a peaceful, nature ride along the Jinjiang River. I’d highly recommend this world-class, niche experience to anyone in Chengdu! 🐼
So awesome to hear how much you enjoyed the experience Aaron! Thanks for leaving us a review too!
This was the coolest experience, getting to explore famous tourist sites of downtown Chengdu with friends on custom made bamboo bicycles! The company hand picked the bike out for me to fit my height and measurements, and the bike itself was very smooth. The bike was so cool that even a local guy stopped me on our ride to ask where he can purchase one, haha! I highly recommend this experience, and will for sure be taking my family on this tour when they visit in the summer!
We're thrilled you had a great time and enjoyed the bike! Thanks for leaving us a review!
Loved riding the Bamboo bikes - no gears and Chengdu is super flat. This is a great way to see the city and we found the first few hours very relaxing. Later in the tour, the ride became a little more tense as more people came onto the streets and the local way of driving/cycling is somewhat crazy.. however that's part of the experience! For the most part you are in cycle lanes but so are the other cyclists, motor scooters and odd pedestrians who don't seem to take much notice of the surroundings. I imagine that bike enthusiasts will love collecting their bike from the Company's workshop as you can see how the Company hand make the bikes.
I had a great time touring the city on a bicycle. Tashi was knowledgable and good at cycling. We saw the sites and had a relaxing cup of tea in the park.
Thanks for allowing us to introduce you to Chengdu on 2 wheels Casey! Jim

We are a family with 3 teenagers and we had a stop in chengdu for 9 hours for transit. So we book this tour. This was very pleasant and everybody enjoyed to discover the city on beautiful bamboo bikes. The weather was a little cold and unfortunately not the good season to see Lotus flowers in parks. Our Canadian guide was very friendly and answered to all questions. I recommend this tour to have an surprising overview of ChengDu.

Had a wonderful morning cycling the busy streets of Chengdu with Abu. Was flexible and we had a stop in the Teahouse in the Peoples Park and a local cup of tea. Cycled down Tibet and China Streets and along the river. Bikes are very comfortable and easy to ride. Interesting to be able to spend time with the developer and manufacturer of the bamboo bikes. I would thoroughly recommend this trip for any cyclist.
