If there’s one place in Bali where the earth kisses the sky and the ocean whispers ancient tales to the cliffs, it’s Uluwatu Temple. Perched dramatically on the edge where land meets sea, this sacred spot offers a view that feels like it was handcrafted by the gods. If you're chasing the perfect sunset — the kind that leaves you breathless and silences the world for a moment — Uluwatu is where you need to be. But Uluwatu is more than just its jaw-dropping views. As twilight approaches, the temple comes alive with the mesmerizing Kecak fire dance — a traditional Balinese performance that unfolds in the open-air amphitheater overlooking the ocean. The dance, rich in symbolism and storytelling, pulls you into a mythic journey you’ll carry long after you leave. Wander through the temple gardens and you'll discover bits of this story carved into stone and scattered like ancient whispers. And then, of course, there are the monkeys — curious, mischievous, and very much part of the experience. Among them, the white monkey steals the show — a sacred symbol and an unforgettable character in the cultural tapestry of Uluwatu. Now, let me say this: book a day with Dewa. More than just a guide, Dewa is a storyteller, a historian, and a heart-led soul who lives and breathes the spirit of Bali. His passion is infectious, his knowledge profound, and his presence a gift. Spend one day with him, and you'll understand not only the history of Uluwatu but also why he’s the perfect bridge between past and present. Uluwatu Temple is not just a place — it’s an experience. A dramatic, soulful, unforgettable one. And with Dewa by your side, it becomes truly magical.
This trip sounded good, but for over $100 AUD each for 4 adults, your time and money would be better spent elsewhere. The journey to Uluwatu is a long one. Our driver was excellent. Even when it started to rain, he provided options and helped us decide whether to continue the trip (even though it was pouring with rain). The fire show was excellent, after a slow start. But the promotional material for the trip doesn’t highlight that the “BBQ seafood on the beach” is an hour’s drive away. And the BBQ dinner on the beach was terrible. Over cooked, dry seafood. Zero atmosphere. It was the bare minimum, a tiny bottle of water and a warm coconut and some rice. If you want to see the fire show at Uluwatu, it is worth a look, but please don’t add the Seafood BBQ option…. Terrible.
Starting at the coffee plantation and got to taste an array of coffee was a wonderful way to start the trip. Beautiful cliff side sunset view that illuminates the temple and fire dance. An amazing experience. Amor, our your guide, was so informative and explained everything in detail about each place. He was great guide and made the experience even better!
5 stars. Krishna was so wonderful and pleasant. So glad I had a private tour with him. His recommendations were excellent. He was attentive to my needs, I loved the art work, coffee plant, beach and fire show. Long beautiful day. The swing was amazing as was the coffee everything was just beautiful.
Had a wonderful time with our tour guide, Gede. He was amazing in explaining the Indonesian/Balinese culture and suggesting amazing places. The fire dance experience was spectacular to see. The Uluwatu temple and monkeys were absolutely magnificent. It was a amazing experience. He was also willing to take photos of us when asked.
