Cruise slowly through the hidden backwaters of Alappuzha (also known as "Alleppey"), considered the hub of the state's backwaters and home to a vast network of waterways and boats. Venture through village areas and the landscape of the Laccadive Sea to marvel at the lush vegetation, paddy fields, coconut palms, and much more. There will be 2-3 staff members along with your guide to look after you and make sure your experience is as relaxed as possible. One of the most tranquil and unique experiences we have ever had. The boat ride was so wonderful, beautiful surroundings, very knowledgeable and super friendly guide, and amazing chefs and captain. The food was absolutely delicious! Would totally recommend!

Here we could really get the pulse going as we slid down the river. We had a single night which included dinner and breakfast. Fantastic experience to follow the life that was on the shore in the form of laundry, morning toilet, beautiful houses along the shore, river transport of various materials.
The tour was pleasant with convenient pickup from the hotel and a cruise along the backwaters in a nice big boat. The crew was friendly and helpful. A nice lunch was prepared by the crew, however we were hoping to have more seafood. It was mainly vegetarian dishes with one small fish served per person. We departed from the shore at noon which is the hottest time of day so it was a bit uncomfortable. Would be better to go closer to the sunset. A decent tour but we didn’t think it was a very good value for what you get.
We were met by our guide for the day Ajith who was very well spoken with perfect English. He proceeded to provide history and facts along the journey to the boat. The boat was fantastic and the food was made fresh by a chef on the boat. We were traveling with a couple of chefs and they slowed them to observe during preparation giving tips for traditional Indian techniques. They allowed for a couple of stops that were not scheduled to grab some street food and a little shopping. In all a perfect day and one of the best guides we have ever had.
Really enjoyed our private houseboat tour around the back waters of Alleppey! Very well organised and a wonderful lunch served on board.
We loved the tour. It was super quiet and serene on the boat. The tour guide was very friendly and gave us right amount of information but also gave time for us to just relax and take in the nature. We also requested to get vegan food which they cooked for us and the food was delicious. Very happy with everything!

We chartered an entire houseboat for our day trip into the backwaters. The vessel had 2 bedrooms with baths and was air conditioned as it can be used for overnight stays. Came with captain, crew, chef and our guide. The boat was is great shape and was very comfortable. The trip through the canals was fascinating We watched everyday life along the shores. The guide was informative and the lunch was delicious. Would highly recommend this tour! The cost was the same as if we had booked it through our cruise ship but then we would have been part of a group of 10-15 people. Having the vessel to ourselves was just perfect.
Carnival Tours are 5 star, easy and prompt to deal with, excellent service & food supplied on our houseboat, we couldn't fault a thing. The staff were so polite and entertaining, it was certainly a highlight of our trip. Highly recommend this activity and Carnival Tours!
