Cauvery Handicrafts Emporium is run by Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. (Govt. of Karnataka) wherein we find the exotic and authentic handicrafts made in different kinds of Wood - Teak, Rose and Sandalwood. We also find here a wide variety of handicrafts from different parts of Karnataka and made from different materials. Pricing is reasonable but fixed prices.
Deepam Silks is one of the oldest and reputed Silk Houses of Bangalore. You find here Sarees of all types, regions, hues and weaves. Not only sarees, one can find ready-to-wear dresses of all kinds too. They specialize in ethnic wear from various regions of India. Prices are reasonable but its a fixed price shop.
CIE is a worldwide franchisee company run by Cooperative efforts of some renowned Kashmir families. They have the best of products from Kashmir and other parts of the country showcased here - hand-woven carpets made from Wool and Silk; Ultra-soft Pashmina shawls made from mountain goats; Colorful and not-so-expensive Papier Mache; Marble inlay works from Agra; Authentic precious and semi precious stones from all over the country; Silver jewelry principally from Rajasthan; Miniature paintings from Rajasthan; Exquisite Indian furniture and linen; Highly ornate bronze castings from Tamil Nadu; and the list goes on..... In this place, the products are authentic and of high quality. Prices are on the higher side but open to negotiation.

The areas surrounding Commercial Street is a street-shopping haven. Just for an experience we will pass through the Gujadi (where recycled automobile spare parts are sold). Walking through the Shivajinagar bazaar streets in a throbbing Indian atmosphere is an unforgettable experience! Of course, haggling is part of the game here....

What started as a desire to get out of the hotel to do some holiday shopping turned into a nice blend (masala?) of city tour, history lesson, conversation - and, yes, some retail therapy. Interested in a bit more than hopping shop-to-shop? Consider this tour. Phaneesh and Varun were excellent hosts and cultural ambassadors of India’s Garden City.
I had a fantastic shopping experience with Vasuki from Bangalore and Beyond. The team was able to accomodate a specialized request to focus on carpet (rug) shopping. We started the day with a proposed list of shops along with details regarding each to allow me to prioritize the sequence of our day. Vasuki was knowledgable, courteous, friendly and extremely helpful. I not only purchased a number of carpets but also had a chance to have a local meal, which was absolutely fantastic. I would recommend Bangalore and Beyond, and would plan additional trips with them during one of my future trips.
This was a terrific shopping experience from Silks to Bronze icon statues. We were able to purchase some lovely silk scarfs and a Lord Shiva bronze. Our guide was superb. We also went to Bull Temple. Our guide was also able to take me to a money changer for an attractive rate better than hotels.
Our tour guide, Phaneesh, was amazing. Not only did we get to go to several shopping spots, but he was happy to add whatever we wanted. He sprinkled the day with his wealth of knowledge on Bangalore and its history. We were overwhelmed with his graciousness and amount of information he had. Highly recommend spending your time with him, a special individual.
