The craft of glass blowing is very interesting. They clearly are artisans. Somehow expected more (but not sure what that would be) than a boat ride over to the island, then watching the glass artisans at work, then view items for sale in their expansive showroom(s). I’m glad we did it, but do not feel we need to do it again. All in all, a nice way to spend a few hours.
Lorenzo was enjoyable, insightful, and went above and beyond to celebrate a special day for our family
Wonderful work personal experience with Glass blowing demos. Beautiful pieces Of art and lovely people. Tour guide was exceptional - Tomasso
Best tour - our guide was fantastic. And they even organised a boat for us to go over to Burano for a visit which wasn't included in the booking
This private toyr was one of the highlights of our 2 week visit to Italy. You get to watch the artists create something amazing from start to finish. The pieces in the large show room are amazing.
Private tour definitely worth it. They allowed us to take pictures and video the master glassblower at work. We were able to browse through all the showrooms. They negotiated a price on a vase within my budget. Pleasant experience, not pushy at all.
We have always liked our Viator experiences but this one missed the mark. We thought we were getting more of a demonstration for glass blowing instead it turned out to be a sales pitch for buying something in their factory. Really enjoyed our chauffeur as he was knowledgeable and fun. But the reason for poor rating was once they knew we were not interested in buying anything it was a quick goodbye see you later.
A tour guide meets you at the Monument to Victor Emmanuel II. He hails a water taxi which takes you and him to the island of Murano. He turns you over to a tour guide at the glass factory. The glass blowing is explained thoroughly and patiently. After the tour you are taken to the museum (showroom) where you can't resist buying an expensive souvenir! The glass tour guide turns you over to the original guide who hails a return water taxi and drops you off at the Emanuel II monument. The tour is only 2 hours and doesn't include water or a snack.
Fascinating getting to watch the glass blowing process. We arrived more than half way through a piece being made, and had to ask to see the full process. They accommodated us but seemed quite put off by it. Their unique pieces are incredibly beautiful, but were a bit uncomfortable when marched through the gallery to see if we wanted to purchase a piece. Honestly we had no idea what artwork such as that would cost but $7000 is waaaaaayyyyy out of our budget. If you are going to buy glass though, it is worth going to Murano.
Everything was perfect. Luca picked us up and we had an awesome short boat ride to the island. The shop/furnace was very interesting to see.
