Itinerary
Meet your local guide in front of Starbucks at Heritage Walk Shopping Mall, conveniently located in the heart of Siem Reap. After a brief introduction, set off on a leisurely walking tour designed to uncover the city's hidden stories, morning traditions, and authentic Khmer flavors.
Begin your morning at the Royal Residence and the revered shrine of Preah Ang Chek and Preah Ang Chorm, one of the most sacred places in Siem Reap. Discover how local people come here to pray for health, prosperity, safe travels, and good fortune. Your guide will share the fascinating spiritual traditions that continue to play an important role in everyday Cambodian life.
Continue through the peaceful Royal Gardens, a favorite gathering place for local families. Along the way, learn about Siem Reap's transformation from a quiet provincial town into one of Southeast Asia's most visited destinations.
Admire one of Cambodia's most iconic heritage buildings. Opened in 1932, the Grand Hotel d'Angkor welcomed early explorers, royalty, and travelers from around the world who journeyed here to discover the temples of Angkor.
Cross the Siem Reap River and join locals for one of Cambodia's most cherished breakfast traditions. Enjoy a bowl of Num Banh Chok, fresh rice noodles topped with a fragrant Khmer curry gravy, seasonal vegetables, and aromatic herbs. This refreshing dish has been enjoyed by generations of Cambodians and is the perfect introduction to Khmer cuisine.
Venture beyond the tourist areas and explore one of Siem Reap's most vibrant local neighborhoods. Walk past family-run businesses, traditional homes, cafés, and community spaces while gaining insight into modern Cambodian life and the city's rapid development.
Step into a tucked-away local eatery that many visitors would never find on their own. Here, enjoy a hearty bowl of Khor Ko, a rich and flavorful Khmer beef stew slow-cooked with local spices and served with fresh cassava bread. Paired with traditional Cambodian coffee, this authentic breakfast offers a true taste of local comfort food.
Continue your journey along the Siem Reap River, an important gathering place for community celebrations, festivals, and daily life. Your guide will share stories about local traditions and how the river remains closely connected to the city's identity.
No Cambodian breakfast experience is complete without Bai Sach Chrouk. Savor tender charcoal-grilled pork served over fragrant rice, accompanied by pickled vegetables, soup, and egg. Simple, delicious, and deeply rooted in Cambodian food culture, this is a favorite morning meal enjoyed across the country.
End your culinary adventure on a sweet note with a traditional Cambodian dessert selected by your guide. Learn about the ingredients, cultural significance, and local customs behind Cambodia's beloved sweet treats.
Conclude your experience at Siem Reap's lively Old Market, where locals shop daily for fresh produce, spices, meats, and household goods. Wander through the colorful aisles while learning about Cambodian ingredients, seasonal produce, and local food traditions. It's the perfect place to observe daily life and gain a deeper understanding of the community beyond the temples. Before saying goodbye, your guide will be happy to recommend favorite local restaurants, cafés, and hidden gems for the rest of your stay in Siem Reap.

Thank you so much for an amazing food tour. We visited three local Cambodian restaurants and try the traditional foods, and after that we went for another place for a sweet dessert. We also walked in the old market in the produce section. The tour was full of explanations and Borey was great with a lot of knowledge, kindness and willingness to answer any question. I learned a lot about the Cambodian kitchen and had a wonderful experience. Highly recommended.
