This was a wonderful tour with a knowledgeable guide and great coffee. Would highly recommend to anybody looking for an inside view of coffee production and best drinking and roasting methods.
We took a tiny walk around the property and didn't really see any coffee growing, the coffee trees being cut, and no chocolate at all. The good thing was to see the coffee dry, make and taste cane syrup and taste 2 different coffees and taste 2 chocolate preparations.
Excellent tour and very educational. We especially liked the coffee and chocolate tastings. The sugarcane "shots" were a tasty surprise as well. Would highly recommend this tour.
A very nice coffee experience Junior tells all about coffee, history the growth processing and lots of other fun facts. In addition, a tasty chocolate story. Junior and an inspired coffee farmer who entertains his guests wonderfully fun and informative.
We were lucky as there was no one else, so we got a private tour. Nice to see how this family business makes their products. We were given a tour of the site for over an hour and then we were allowed to taste coffee, chocolate and sugar cane. Nice experience!
Junior did a fantastic job relating the history of coffee and subsequent coffee farming soup to nuts on a costa rica small coffee far. He explained in simple terms the science behind coffee farming and why small coffee farms provide superior coffee to corporate coffee. He had a great sensevof humour and also gave excellent sugar canoe snd chocolate farming summaries. His free coffee chocolate and sugar cane samples very good
My friend and I were looking for a small, family-owned coffee farm to learn more about the coffee making process. We were able to sample coffee, cocoa and sugarcane. We genuinely enjoyed this tour experience and would recommend it it anyone staying near Monteverde. Everyone was very kind, passionate about what they do, and knowledgeable.
Wonderfully informative tour! Both owners were very knowledgeable and a delight to spend 2 hours with! The tour includes a variety of cane sugar, coffee, and chocolate tastings, which really enhanced the experience. I am glad we toured a local, authentic coffee farm!
Thursday, January 8th we visited this family farm with the owner for both of us for 2 hours. Very interesting and great tastings: coffees with banana and pineapple. Cocoa with crushed sugarcane juice by ourselves. I highly recommend
Very well done tour of a former working coffee plantation that is now a demonstration area. It has the real plants, but on a smaller scale than a full working plantation. We learned a lot about coffee growing and processing, and also about other tropical crops. Part of the tour was squeezing a sugar cane and drinking the juice. It was delicious and not overly sweet. At the end of the tour the guide made delicious coffee in a couple of different styles for us to taste, and also provided some delicious snacks of fruit and chocolate.
