Great experience. Michael is the best guide. 100% recommend it. The kangaroos are very sweet and the koalas are the cutest.
A must do. The tour is approx 45 minutes long andwell worth it. It is included in the admission fee and the information given by the guide is educational and funny.
Koalas and Kangaroos! Get up close and personal with these wonderful animals. Ranger who took us about was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Was able to take some great photos and see the animals at home and relaxed. Great day and would definitely recommend
Werribee Zoo has a nice setting. However there weren’t as many animals as I expected. It's a great place for family, especially those over 2, as there are lots of interactive experiences and space for them to explore. Overall, it’s a relaxing visit, not ideal if you're looking for a large variety of animals.
It was an a very memorable experience at the place. The gorrillas, the hippo, the girraffes and more. The bus safari was the highlight for our toddler with a variety of animals in the open in close quarters. The visit is a good number of hours of the day and an advantage to have some play area of toddlers. Lots of open space for visitors to relax and make it fun filled picnic in the zoo
Really great bus tour through the Savannah section. They made sure we were all able to see a lot of the animals up close. It was called a Sunset safari but the sun set after the experience ended, different times of year will change this. Unfortunately we got the worse bus time as after the introduction/ welcome we went and lined up for the bus. When we returned from the bus 1hr later we had dinner and then walked around the park but all animals had gone to bed by then and the hippos were the only animals we were able to get a small glimpse of. Try to get the later timed buses which I think you need to turn up extra early and wait in line to get.
What an amazing experience. The staff were amazing, friendly, knowledgeable and extremely welcoming! We had the most awesome night on the Sunset Safari, seeing every animal on our tour and the food was delicious. It felt like we were the only people in the zoo as we casually wandered around soaking up the environment. No line ups for anything! Definitely a must do!
The safari slumber at the zoo was good the food was great and the whole thing was good I would go back again
Unfortunately the experience you pay for and look forward to just doesn’t exist in poor weather. The entire experience was extremely cold and wet, the animals were therefore pretty hidden. The indoor eating area had been reserved for red balloon or something but there were no staff to communicate this and I wasn’t able to see this stated anywhere online. This resulted in a lot of very cold and hungry people waiting outdoors for a while, only to be told we aren’t allowed in. Outdoor seating was available but it was just not appropriate given the weather. The kids area indoors was really warm and there were a couple of snakes to look at, but there was no information on the animals anywhere to be seen, and no staff to engage with. The name of the animal wasn’t even there for us to google and talk to the kids about. The music and drumming was okay but was scattered about the place and, as mentioned before, was too cold to stop and enjoy. The zookeepers did their best on the Safari to bring the animals closer with food, and I understand they have no control over the weather, but it was definitely not worth it for me. I would have happily donated to the rhinos and stayed home. It should be cancelled in poor weather. It was a birthday gift for someone and we all left cold, hungry and pretty disappointed. Didn’t feel like what was advertised at all and I don’t want to go back.
The bus driver was very knowledgeable and we got close to Rhino, Zebra and Eland, Due to the wet cold night the Giraffe were locked away (understandable). Otherwise - No organisation of the queue to get in, saw very little African entertainment. Once off the tour headed for the BBQ which was disappointing and expensive. Tasteless Boerwors in a huge roll. Tasteless Chicken skewer. Left to our own devices after the bus tour. Thought the extra we paid compared to daytime entry was not worth it. Much more crowded than we expected and no different to going in daytime.
