It was really just a 4 hr e-bike ride with 2 food stops. There was no history given either about Austin or about the food we ordered.
Our guide was a nice guy and led us on a good loop of Austin… but this definitely is not a tour… foodie or otherwise. Both stops, we sat and ordered off the menu like regular patrons. No one from the restaurant spoke with us and the guide didn’t know any more than we did about the food. He didn’t really have much information to share about Austin either. After three hours, I had a headache and we agreed to wrap things up. It was getting dark and there was a beautiful sunset and we rode by people waiting for bats on the Congress Street bridge. THAT would have been a great time to stop, take a picture, and see something uniquely Austin… but we rode on by that opportunity. Overall, my brother and I were pretty disappointed… although it did make for a funny story.
Faith was a terrific guide. We are not bikers, but the e-bikes made it easy. Faith took time to understand our interests and curated the experience around us. Highly recommend for a taste and sip of Austin with a local gem!
What a fun and exciting eBike tour. We ate some excellent food including a doughnut that was to die for.
A guided bike tour is a great way to get to discover Austin. We toured lots of neighborhoods which helped us plan and enjoy the rest of our visit. Our guide Chris was very friendly and knowledgeable. Our food stops were tailored to us, and we got to try some great local delicacies.
Easy to work with and so chill. Showed us local parts of Austin we hadn’t seen. Food was excellent!!
Brenda was fantastic - very knowledgeable of the city, picked great stops for food and beverages, and awesome photo opportunities with famous Austin landmarks. She was also very experienced in terms of bike safety. We felt completely safe the entire time, and my wife is usually a little bit worried riding bikes on streets. This was great.
We loved our guided afternoon tour. We had 2 food stops and one dessert stop, with cocktails as well. Would definitely recommend!
We were a group of five ladies with 2 tour guides. One up front and one in the back. The bikes were great and we felt safe riding them. Austin is a great place to do a tour bike. The disappointment was with the tour guide. He biked so fast that is was hard to keep up. There was very little sharing about the landmarks of the city and only the person up front could hear him. At some point one of us lost the group with the tour guide in the back. So the tour guide had to call and ask for the rest of the group to come back. One of us asked the tour guide up front to slow down and also when the first food stop would happen. He started making snarky comments regarding the request. We biked for two hours before making the first food stop!! He checked in in the beginning if we were hungry or first wanted to ride the bikes. We were unaware it meant biking that long. We paid $128 per person for very little food. The idea of a E-bike food tour is fun, the execution could have been much better.
Thank you for your review! We sincerely apologize your tour experience was less then anticipated. We will speak to our tour guides and make sure they understand that matching the speed for the riders is a major priority. Please do not hesitate to contact our Tour Mgr at BikeTexas to arrange for a discount.
Chris was a very knowledgeable and friendly guide. He took us ALL over Austin and showed us spots we definitely would have never been able to see on our own. It did feel like an “insiders” tour. Food was top notch!
