Seeing the goats climbing the argan trees was truly unique and something I had never seen before. The guide was friendly, the stop was well organized, and we had plenty of time to take photos. A must-do activity when visiting Agadir. Highly recommended
This tour was recommended to us by a friend and we were looking forward to it. Our booked session was cancelled twice in a row, both with less than 12 hours notice but we did finally get to go. It was good to see the goats. You should be aware, however, that this is a staged set-up. You pull in at the side of the motorway. The goatherd has brought the goats to this area. About 8 are up one tree and the rest are roaming. You can hold one of the babies. They are very cute! The ones in the tree have been trained to stay there so tourists can photograph them. It wasn’t clear how this happens. We saw one come down from the tree but didn’t see any climbing or reaching for the fruit, they stayed still. It was cool to see them but didn’t feel a very authentic experience. We were then taken to a place that makes and sells argan oil products. There was a hurried talk about the process, then we watched a short video. It was interesting to learn about the process but would have been good to have a more interactive or detailed presentation, or to meet/learn about some of the women who create the products. There is a shop on-site but no pressure to make a purchase. All transportation is included, which I think justifies the otherwise high price.
Don’t waste your money or time. Having been to see goats and a argan coop years ago I wanted to share the experience with my daughter…..but This was very disappointing. We went to the side of the road in Agadir and there hardly any goats in the trees, plenty on the ground though which isn’t the draw. Then we drove to the center to of town to basically a store and watched a 2min video on argan oil and they wanted to charge insane amounts. It was very disappointing not to go to a true coop to see women make the oil like there tours offer.
I got to see the goats and visit the argan oil factory so guess I did what it advertised. It is overpriced and the driver said no more than 2 words the whole time we were with him. I was nervous as this was my first solo excursion luckily I met another lady who was on her own and she was great company. Def will NOT be recommending this trip to my friends who are planning a visit to Agadir.
Fun morning seeing the goats climbing the Argan trees. Wife held a baby goat for a photograph. Where closed footwear.
Mohammed was fabulous! My mum and I had a great time seeing the goats in the trees, and Mohommed was on hand for anything we needed - taking photos of my mum and I and gave us any extra information of what we passed on the drive. He showed us the argan nut and how it breaks down to release the oil. Holding a 5 day old baby goat waa adorable!
You don't see it every day. And the rest of the goats on the ground are already very cute, especially the kids, who don't seem annoyed when all the girls take them on their arms. Fun trip.
From start to finish our tour guide Muhammad was really friendly. Great tour guide and driver. Also very punctual.
Absolutely brilliant morning. Guide arrived on time in a very clean and safe mini-van. Short drive to the goats which were brilliant. The shepherds were extremely gentle with the goats and we were able to hold a baby and feed some of the olde goats berries. The trip to the factory was informative and in no way pushed to buy anything.
Our Agadir morning tour was a peaceful and delightful experience. While our guide was very quiet, the chance to see the famous argan tree-climbing goats in person was incredibly fun. The highlight of the trip was definitely snuggling a sweet baby kid, making it a perfect excursion for any animal lover.
