Road Trip with Wes and John

If you are looking for something off the beaten path, you may want to hop on the Alaska Wild Lights tour bus with Wes and John and head up to the Arctic Circle on the Dalton Highway. Our group was picked up at our agreed-upon location early and started our day. Made some stops to see the Alaska pipeline, Dalton Highway sign, even a roadside river camp to grab some eats and watch the marmots. Learned alot about Alaska from John while Wes navigated the dusty, then rainy, Dalton Highway and avoided the potholes and permafrost hills. If you are looking to do something unique, this would be a great choice.

Wonderful tour! Loved the...

Wonderful tour! Loved the small group size and the chance to visit the Arctic Circle and the Alaskan pipeline. Even though the drive time getting there was a few hours, our tour guide, Milo, was very entertaining, very knowledgable, and provided an engaging experience. The frequent stops along the way allowed for photo opportunities and chances to grab a bite to eat and shop. Great afternoon!

Everything went smoothly...

Everything went smoothly from the booking process, pre-tour communications, and the actual tour itself. Out tour guide Milo was very knowledable describing how the terrian changes from the beginning of the trip to our destination. He was also knowledgeable on how to safely drive our group to and back from the Arctic Circle. We had a bonus with a sighting is a Moose on the way back. Overall an enjoyable day.

Excellent Dalton Highway experience

Our tour guide, Milo, was very knowledgeable and kept us going at a steady pace. He started with an overview of the day and a stop at Walmart to buy additional snacks or items we needed for the trip. He let us take quick photo stops and took pictures for the group. He was experienced with the unchanging conditions of Dalton Highway and made us always feel safe. We will definitely recommend this tour to our friends.

Not a good tour

We did the Artic Tour on May 27, 2026. The young ladies name we had as a tour guide was Shannon. I believe that was her name. She was a very nice young lady. On our tour there were 10 people including our tour guide. We were packed like sardines sad to say. There was a gentleman that sat in the front seat with the driver as he was over 6 ft tall. On the back of the van there was an older couple and the man must have been at least 6 ft as well. The tour van was not big enough to accomodate all of us comfortably. It was pretty bad. My 85 year old mother was with my husband and I. She was very uncomfortable. Throughout the tour, Shannon explaind some things. But most of the tour she was twirling her hair and pretty much speaking to the gentleman sitting next to her and letting him know what was going on the tour instead of going on the loud speaker and sharing with the rest of. She was not a very good tour guide. Very inexperienced and not at all professional. I would have preferred someone with much more experience. As I said, she was a lovely young lady, but she should have more training under her belt before she takes anyone out for a tour. The sites of Alaska were beautiful. Please note, I am writing this so she can get more training and so you are aware of what transpired. If I had known that this tour was going to be like this, I would have never booked it. It was a lot of money to spend for what we got. I am thinking twice about booking a tour with your company in October when we go to Bermuda. Thank you for taking the time to read this review. I appreciate it. Orlando C

A Must while in Fairbanks.

A full day excursion to the Arctic Circle. Learn about the road, from construction to traffic that uses this road to the north slope. Milo, our tour driver, was very knowledgeable, a safe driver and explained everything about the road. An excellent tour!

Artic Circle June 2026

This is a long van ride with the destination only a sign. If you realize this and still want to go, the trip was enjoyable. We saw no wildlife but lots of trees. My opinion is this is something you should do ince, but see no need fir a second trip. Continuous view of the pipeline was interesting.

Problematic Vehicle

Shannon was an excellent guide and we appreciated spending the day with her and learned a lot! That being said, the vehicle we used was a problem. This was advertised as an 8 or 9 person trip and there were 11 people in our group. This was a problem because my family was the last pickup and so we sat in the kid seats in the back - the air circulation was minimal and the seats were smaller than the other seats in the van. For a 14 + hour trip, this was thoroughly inadequate. We think the company should upgrade the vehicles used so all seats are comfortable for a trip of this duration AND accurately reflect their advertised program.
