Apulian Cooking Class with Aperitif and Wine in Polignano a Mare

Our orecchiette cooking class with Annamaria was one of the absolute highlights of our trip to Puglia! From the moment we arrived, she made us feel like family. Annamaria is an incredible teacher—so engaging, patient, and passionate. She shared wonderful stories about Puglia, its traditions, and the history behind the region’s famous orecchiette while teaching us the authentic technique step by step. By the end of the class, we were actually making our own pasta with confidence! The food was absolutely delicious, and sharing the meal together afterward made the experience even more special. The company, conversation, and warm hospitality made us feel like we were guests in a friend’s home rather than taking a cooking class. I took the class with my mom and my sister, and it’s a memory we’ll treasure forever. If you’re visiting Polignano a Mare and want an authentic Puglian experience, don’t miss this class. This was an unbelievably FUN experience! It was exciting to learn the proper technique for making the famous orecchiette found all over Puglia. The instructions were clear and the atmosphere was inviting. Then we got to enjoy it afterwards, which was a treat. I highly recommend it! There are so many cooking classes to choose from around the area, and I would book this one without hesitation! :)

I had booked a cooking class with Pugliamare, but on the morning of the experience my partner woke up very sick. I contacted them politely, explained the situation, and asked if it would be possible to postpone the class to the following month, as I was flying back to Ireland that same night and would not be back in Bari for two weeks. I was not asking for a cancellation or a refund — only for an alternative solution or a chance to reschedule due to illness. Unfortunately, their response was simply that their policy does not allow changes within 24 hours. There was no real empathy, flexibility, or willingness to help. As a result, I lost €130 and also missed an experience I was genuinely looking forward to. I understand that businesses need policies, but situations involving illness should be handled with a minimum level of humanity and customer care. Very disappointing service. I would not recommend booking with them unless you are 100% certain nothing unexpected will happen, because they appear to offer no support or flexibility at all.
