We booked through Tripadvisor but the actual ticket was given to us by a company named Amigo Tours. This tour operator did a great job communicating with us via Whatsapp and then via their own app that we downloaded. Due to some issues with the museum administration, digital tickets could not be provided, so Amigo Tours let us know about 2 days in advance to collect tickets from their guide in front of a Starbucks near the museum. They sent us exact address for the Starbucks as well as a picture of the guide with a cap and shirt with logo. We took an Uber from the hotel to the museum which dropped us off a little farther. After using Apple maps, we were able to locate the Starbucks and found our guide waiting with the tickets. The tour operator also sent us a link to download the digital guide which was super helpful. The waiting line was not long for us (about 5 mins) to get into the museum. They do check bags at the entrance but it is a fast process. Once in the museum, we strolled through at our own pace through the exhibits. There are 7-8 doors to the exhibits. You can enter through any door, but to see the chronologic rise and fall of MesoAmerican cultures, we started from door 1 (nearest to the entrance and to the right of the large structure in the courtyard with water falling from it) and moved sequentially. The museum is a MUST SEE for anthropology and history lovers. It's collection of items is immense and demonstrates the rise and fall of pre-Hispanic civilizations in this land with clear categories. There are English translation for very few of the descriptors, which was disappointing. But nevertheless, the information stored in this place is immense. There are several streetside shops near the museum with an abundant supply of chips and sodas. There is also a restaurant inside the premises that had food from diverse regions of Mexico in their menu, although we ended up not eating there. Overall, this is a gret trip worth making. We took a leisurely pace to look at the exhibits and spent around 4 hours going through all of them.
I have been to the Anthropology Museum 5 times, and I am still only skimming the surface of its treasures. An extraordinary piece of architecture, housing a mind-blowing collection of pre-Columbian artefacts. A must-see for anyone wanting to learn about the rich and diverse heritage of Mexico.
This company promises a digital guide. There is no such thing, u are better off buying your tickets directly from ticket counter. All signs are in Spanish, without a guide you are just looking at very old pieces.

This option for tickets was so helpful to avoid lines. We went first thing in the morning, so there wasn’t much of a line anyway. But by the time we left the line was pretty intense. You get the tickets through the app and you can take screenshots. The museum worker didn’t second guess them at all. We walked past the line and went straight in. The big exhibits have English translations but not everything does so the guide was super helpful. The museum is HUGE so you really have to set aside time (3-4 hours) to get through everything
Was told by the museum staff that the tickets cannot be used as they no longer “have digital guide”.

Museum was wonderful and extensive, however we expected to receive audio guides and were disappointed. The continuity from one large room to another was also confusing, ie it was difficult to understand what was going on from one decade/century to another across the various cultures.
The Anthropology Museum is fabulous. But just get a ticket at the entrance. No need for advance tickets. And the digital guide is a waste of space.

Amazing artifacts and descriptions of the evolution of “mankind”. Visitors should allow plenty of time to experience the museum, if they can only visit once. Otherwise plan on returning more than one. It is well worth the visit(s).
Everything worked out fine. First there is a voucher, then you always get a reminder that the valid ticket only gets the day before the event. That's how it was. Thank you
Very well organised tickets for an excellent museum which was a highlight to Mexico but limited English explanations. Light filled and airy buildings with lots of areas to rest and a good restaurant. Highly recommended.
