The museum is the synthesis of an ideological, scientific, and political feat. The museum’s collections include the Stone of the Sun, giant stone heads of the Olmec civilization that were found in the jungles of Tabasco and Veracruz, treasures recovered from the Mayan civilization, at the Sacred Cenote at Chichen Itza, among others. It also has a model of the location and layout of the former Aztec capital Tenochtitlan, the site of which is now occupied by the central area of modern-day Mexico City. The permanent exhibitions on the ground floor cover all pre-Columbian civilizations located on the current territory of Mexico as well as in former Mexican territory in what is today the southwestern United States. The museum also hosts visiting exhibits, generally focusing on other of the world’s great cultures

Wonderful experience and our guide, Poncho, was fabulous!! Highly recommend.
Poncho and this experience was highly worth it. Funny, educational, energetic and passionate. Highly recommend!!!
Great compact tour. Very informative. Jorge was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history. Incredible museum.
Excellent experience and grounding of an ancient civilization that inhabited predominately central and south america
Definitely would book again! Francisco did a great job!
The museum is beautiful and very interesting. Our guide was great.
Liked the tour guide, but it was a bit all over the place. I’ve taken a similar tour 3 years ago and this one was too much. The information was being not deeply explained and it was very tough to follow. I kept losing focus throughout the tour. Next time, keep it simple and to the main points. Don’t try to fit everything or else no one will follow anything.
A group of about 20 felt large at the start, but as we went it got better and better. Short of a private tour, I recommend.
We had an excellent guide for our museum tour. Her name was Alexa, and she presented the information so clearly and with so much depth. We will not be able to remember all of it, but we gained a deep appreciation for the civilizations and culture from the México City region long before it was Mexico City! I highly recommend a tour because there is much to learn, but very few of the printed placards are in English. Alexa was quite fluent, but more importantly, quite well-informed on her subject-matter. She is an expert and were very grateful that she shared all her knowledge with us for 2.5 hours. But, be ready for a lot of standing!!
Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and very thorough in his discussions. I highly recommend this tour.
