The first stop is the Royal Residence and Royal Garden, where you’ll stroll around the town’s central shrine. From there, cycle off-road to Angkor Thom, the final capital of the Angkor Empire. A scenic ride along its ancient walls leads to Bayon Temple, famed for its massive stone faces. In the afternoon, pause for a traditional Khmer lunch at a local restaurant before heading to your last highlight, Ta Prohm Temple—the iconic “Tomb Raider” site, where giant tree roots entwine with ancient walls, creating one of Angkor’s most breathtaking scenes.

Mr. Young is an excellent guide who is well versed and clear on the history and culture of Angkor Wat. Besides his knowledge of the temples, Mr. Young lead a cycling itinerary through the back pathways around the site, which were quiet and adventurous. Also, Mr. Young takes great pictures.
