No show, no communication, and wasted our limited time on vacation. Very disappointed. Received refund.
Horrible experience, tour operator did not show up . We waited there for 30 minutes and returned back . I will be requesting full refund .
I sent a message to this tour operator several weeks before the tour and they never answered. We waited for 30 minutes at the pickup place. They were a no show. They are not on WhatsApp. I would recommend trying another tour company. I trust that TripAdvisor will give us a refund.
Guide was super knowledgeable and made sure to look out in particular for things we mentioned being interested in seeing! What a unique and interesting way to see a different part of the forest ecosystem. He and his colleagues really care about the environment they work in and it was very cool to hear him also discuss stewardship and our collective role in protecting places. We saw owls, kinkajous, many toads and frogs, caiman, scorpions, spiders, and a sleeping hummingbird. He really knew the place like the back of his hand, and it really felt like an honor to be in such a special place. Thanks again!
I was really keen to experience the Costa Rican jungle at night and this did not disappoint. Manuel is a really fun guide, maybe even a little crazy, and went the extra mile for us. On the night the tour was booked it was raining heavily, Manuel offered us a refund or to reschedule for the following day - luckily, we were free and he collected us next day in time to catch toucans in the dusk and walk into the rain forest before nigh settled in and we began to look for creatures. We found a Wandering Spider (my number one target), caimans, scorpions, a beautiful hummingbird, a katydid, numerous tiny frogs etc. The trail is a bit of a hike which was nice as it feels like an authentic experience. Manuel is great company and entertained us with stories as well as telling us about the animal we were seeing. Then, at the end (and I doubt you can be guaranteed this) we had to wait in a shelter while Manuel went off to call his driver - it was raining by then and I looked up and right above my head, in the shelter, was a two-toed sloth. He crawled around hanging from the roof struts only inches above our heads - it was an amazing end to a really fun trip.
We thank you and we highly recommend our guide Manuel who was great. He took us to his park away from tourists and we had an amazing and immersive experience in the wildlife of Costa Rica.
Manuel was an amazing tour guide. He helped us spot so many animals including bats, scorpions, frogs, and tarantulas! He was so knowledgeable about the animals and plants and the tour was so well organized. Also, it ended up just being my girlfriend and I on the tour, which felt really private and nice. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to see more wildlife!
Tour guide didn't show up. Waiting on a refund. Booked a different tour through a local and enjoyed that.
We had the tour scheduled & I called that afternoon to make sure we were still on since it had been raining the past couple evenings. The tour operator stated he was not in Quepos but in San Jose & needed to check with his other guides regarding the weather & would get back to me before we headed to meet him. I never heard back & we hired a taxi to take us to the meeting place. Once at the meeting place, it began pouring rain & I called since it was past the meeting time & no one showed up. He stated that both his guides were out of town & unable to meet us. I told him that would have been nice to know prior to our family heading to the meeting place. We had to hire a taxi back to the house at that point. We were refunded our money for the tour, however there was the cost of the taxi both ways & the time spent when we could have done something else. This was inconsiderate & unprofessional. When we spoke to a local about what had happened the next day, they asked his name & when we told them, they knew of Manuel & rolled their eyes & gave me numbers for other tour operators.
The tour was cancelled for no other reason... maybe even better as it poured out of buckets all evening 😅
