In the morning, meet your guide at hotel lobby in Nanjing city or Nanjing Railway Station. As this tour is flexible, please feel free let your guide know you like, he will customize an itinerary for you. You can also follow the sample itinerary if you like. Mausoleum of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen (father of modern China) is a must visit place in Nanjing. Hike to the top of the purple mountain, learn about the China's history in 20th century, appreciate the elegant design of the mausoleum, have a panoramic view of the city, and close up look of mausoleum itself. ( Sun Yat-sen mausoleum close on Monday)
Then, continue your tour to Xiaoling Tomb of Ming Dynasty, a historic site that lies at the southern foot of Purple Mountain, located east of the historical center of Nanjing. See the impressive ancient architecture, learn the history of Ming dynasty and take a nice walk along the ways with numerous animal statues and beautiful trees.
Then head to Zhonghua gate. See the castle-style ancient city gate on a giant scale with massive masonry walls, deep arched gateways and multiple courtyards. Learn how the military defense the enemy and protect the city in the ancient times.
If you like, Visit the Confucius temple, See how people worship the great educator and philosopher in the temple, taste the local snacks on the old street. If time allows, take a 50 minutes boating along the mother river Qinhuai River through the old buildings.( at your own cost)
Then, take your private vehicle to Jiming Temple, is a renowned Buddhist temple in Nanjing. It is also one of the oldest temples in town. In the temple, there is a seven-story pagoda that overlooks Xuanwu Lake. My husband and I had the most wonderful full-day tour with Emily! She was so knowledgeable about every site we visited and flexible about making sure we went to all of the places we were most interested in. We had a packed day, yet we never felt stressed or rushed. Midway through, we stopped for the most delicious lunch with specialty dishes from Nanjing! We also had specific pick-up and drop-off requests, and Emily was super accommodating about them. We would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see all of the highlights of Nanjing in one day!! We loved every moment of it!

They also help us to make a talor-made Itinerary: -Sun Yatsen Mausoleum - Xiaoling Tomb of Ming Dynasty -Zhonghua Gate -Jiming Temple - Confucian Temple Area We skipped lunch for reasons of time. The car was big and very comfortable. Very convenient to be picked by the station and brought back just in time to leave. It allowed us to take a nice day trip without staying in an hotel.
