Itinerary
We will visit the largest and oldest palace in the Alhambra, its construction dates back to the 13th century. With its surprising gardens and bustling fountains, it is considered the best preserved example of almunia on the Iberian Peninsula.
We will cross the walls of the Alhambra through the Puerta Nueva to tour the area of the Medina and its archaeological remains, where some 5,000 souls lived in this palatine city during the Middle Ages. We will pass in front of the Gate of the Seven Floors. After passing this Archaeological area, we will travel along Calle Real de la Alhambra, this being the main road of the monumental complex.
Defensive gate of the Alhambra, created in the 14th century
Renaissance work from the 16th century. Symbol of power with clear Italian inspiration in its design.
Monumental door from the beginning of the 14th century
Plaza- Viewpoint with spectacular views of the city of Granada. From there we will contemplate the neighborhoods of Albaicín and Sacromonte, both groups declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. In addition, we will admire the majesty of some towers of the complex.
Without a doubt, the oldest area of the Alhambra created by the first sultan Mohamed I Alhamar. Where from its towers we can contemplate impressive views of the city of Granada.
What was the Palace of Mohamed III today offers us a surprising view of its portico with the city of Granada behind and a pool that acts as a mirror. It is considered by many "the photo of the Alhambra."

This was a wonderful tour and we learned ALOT! However, if you have any mobility issues, the Alhambra is NOT for you. It has alot of walking on uneven ground...but it is a wonderful experience. Thanks so much for a fantastic tour!
