Alexandria Port Shore Excursion: Pyramids & GEM with Egyptologist
Description
Step off your cruise ship in Alexandria and stand at the foot of the Great Pyramid by lunchtime. This shore excursion gets you to Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum, then back to your ship with hours to spare, with a small group of fellow cruise passengers. Your licensed Egyptologist meets you at the port with an air-conditioned vehicle. You travel to the Giza Plateau, where you'll stand at the base of the Great Pyramid of Khufu, see the Sphinx up close, and hear the real history behind 2.3 million stone blocks. Then on to the brand-new Grand Egyptian Museum, where King Tutankhamun's complete treasures are shown together for the first time. Then a comfortable transfer back to your ship, with at least 2 hours of buffer before sail-away. Up to 16 travelers per departure, so you get personal attention from your Egyptologist at a friendly per-person price. Booking as a family or group of friends? You arrive at the Giza Plateau within 2.5 hours of leaving Alexandria Port. Your Egyptologist walks you to the base of the Great Pyramid of Khufu, explains how 2.3 million stone blocks ended up here, and shares what the latest research actually shows about how it was built. You spend time at the panoramic view point for clear photos of all three Pyramids together. Then down to the Sphinx, where your guide explains the real theories about its age and purpose. Optional add-ons: entering inside the Great Pyramid, a camel ride for photos.
You continue to the Grand Egyptian Museum, the largest archaeological museum ever built. Your guide walks you through the soaring atrium past the towering statue of Ramses II, up the Grand Staircase lined with royal monuments, and into the Tutankhamun galleries where his complete collection is shown together for the first time in history. You won't rush. Linger at the gold mask as long as you want, hear the stories behind the chariots, the throne, and the canopic shrines from someone who's studied them.

We had an amazing time in El Cairo. We arrived in cruise Alexandria and had an 3hour drive arriving back on time. Mai was the best guide ever, she was very knowledgeable, explain everything simple and were the best host. We had an amazing pyramids tour and then had lunch. Finalizing with the essential cottons, oils and jewelry. Highly recommended!

good overview of Alexandria, especially for first time travelers to the city. liked the museum and the exhibit of Tutankhamen. The visit to the catacombs very enlightening. It made all the places come to life by the wonderful guide we had .He and the driver made this a memorable experience.

Mai Saeed was the most amazing tour guide. She is walking encyclopedia of knowledge. She is so passionate about the history of her country! She was so helpful and never pressured us to move on. First I got in touch with Ahmed the international sales director via WhatsApp and email, communication was easy and he responded quickly, all my questions was answered appropriately. I think it starts with trusting the initial communication when booking a tour and visiting a country for the first time. Ahmed put my mind at ease and I felt comfortable proceeding with this tour. I also requested to be part of a small group instead of private tour. Ahmed was excellent to say the least. I paid 20% deposit then the rest after the tour is completed via secured payment link. On the day of the tour he texted that our guide is waiting at the exit of our cruise terminal. Our guide was Rasha, she was very detailed, took care of bathroom breaks, souvenir shop stops, lunch, pictures and more. Her English was great, our driver was great too. It was a long day, we felt very safe, we had a good time and with good pictures and memories to share with family and friends. A water bottle and cookie was also included. I highly recommend Egypt Day Tours thank you!One more bucket list trip completed.

Was a wonderful experience with our guide, security, the driver and only one other couple. It was like a private tour with our own Egyptologist. Very informative, interesting and kind. He knew just where to stand for great photos, helped take them too.
