Alaska Railroad Seward to Anchorage One Way

Description
Departing from downtown Seward at 6pm, the Coastal Classic Train travels north along the rugged coastline of Turnagain Arm, with dramatic views of the Chugach Mountains plunging directly to the sea. At the end of Turnagain Arm, the tracks veer away from the road system into the backcountry wilderness – and what many consider to be the most scenic stretch of the Alaska Railroad, accessible only by train. Watch for views of massive glaciers, steep river canyons, and cascading waterfalls. The train arrives in Anchorage at 10:15pm.

We took a rail trip through Alaska. Going to several stops all along the railway. All trains were well staffed, clean and an enjoyable ride to all destinations. Luggage was handled from the depots to hotels Excellent way to travel
Amazing trip. Narration was spot on. Seward was a cool place. Walkable with lots of dining options. Recommend The Highliner and The Breeze Inn.
Perfect end to our trip. Beautiful views - Seward to Anchorage
Riding the rails from Seward to Anchorage with the Gold Star ticket turned out to be one of the highlights of our 14-day trip. The panorama cars are an amazing way to see the scenery as you pass through, and the included dinner is generous and tasty. Your ticket even includes two alcoholic drinks and unlimited soft drinks. The on-board staff is good at pointing out sites of interest, although we felt they were surely pulling our legs with wildlife sightings. "There's a bear up the hill by that tree!" What hill? What tree? The train never goes very fast, taking 4-½ hours to travel 114 miles to Anchorage. This makes it easier to sight-see. And because it's summer in Alaska, you have full daylight the whole way, even upon arrival in Anchorage at 10:30pm.
Amazing trip. Absolutely beautiful. Highly recommend you add this to the end of your cruise. It’s so worth it!
My train was cancelled, but I was not notified in advance so I drove three hours just to enjoy your train. The bus ride was okay.
They will cancel your train and give you a bus without a courtesy email or phone call. I would avoid booking through viator.
No train!! a bus! the seats in the train station were very uncomfortable. It was too cold to sit outside. They passed out food boxes. They were only enough for six or seven people ,,and then they said I’m sorry that’s all there is ha ha it would have been better not to have given anyone food.
Terrible experience.. we traveled by bus to Seward and upon arriving at the station, we were told that the departure had been canceled without any explanation and "their policy" is no refunds, truly terrible.
Wonderful landscapes, I was glued to the window the whole way. It's not cheap, but it really deserves it! I traveled economy from Seward to Anchorage and from Denali to Fairbanks, surely the route that deserves the most is the first! The second one I chose because it cost less than the bus!!
