Taj Mahal was built by the Mughal Emperor Shahjahan in the memory of paramour Mumtaj Mahal whose real name was Ajmand Bano Begum. She was given the title name as Mumtaj Mahal which signifies the Crown Palace. This tomb took 22 years time for the construction. This Epitome of love attracts the tourists for its elegant architecture and refined craftsmanship done by inlaid work done by semi precious stones in the white marble. In case the time suits you can prefer visiting the Taj Mahal at the time of dawn or dusk on account of capturing the colour change in the white marble to take instagram worthy pictures. You are suggested to bring less articles on account of saving time at the security spot during the guided tour.
The Agra fort presents before you an enchanting image with its high ramparts. The outer walls go on for 2.5 km and it houses a series of palaces constructed by various Mughal emperors. The note worthy palaces housed inside are- Deewane Khas, Deewan - E- Am, Musamman Burj, Khas Mahal, and Jahangeeri Mahal etc. Your expert tour guide will show you the place where Shahjahan was made house captive by his own son and died overlooking the Taj Mahal. I had 24 hour layover in Delhi and decided on Taj Mahal tour. Highly recommend this as they picked me up from Delhi Airport, drove me to Agra hotel (4hr private car) followed by early morning tour (6am) then driving back to Delhi around noon for evening flight. My tour guide, Pavan, was very professional, highly insightful and did a great job. Quality of tour guide really adds depth and special meaning to this rare experience. One of the best guides I’ve experienced. Also big thanks to Rohit, the driver, for maneuvering through the traffic and comfortable long drive (from airport pick up to Agra to airport drop off). It was a truly magical day, staring with the fort, then Taj Mahal, but also Pavan took us to an incredible spot view in a garden to see the Taj Mahal from far away, I have to mention that he took the best pictures of us in every spot knowing all the tricks to get the best ones! Today the company sent a car to us from the hotel to Taj Mahal and Musburg, along the route there are very detailed Chinese guide explanations and after the end of Musburg we went to a tea shop with Things to do, the price of tea is 50 g 500 rubles.
