Explore a side of Ketchikan most visitors never see as you venture deep into the remote backcountry of the Tongass National Forest. This tour combines rugged off‑roading with some of the most dramatic rainforest and ocean views in Southeast Alaska. Your Polaris RZR XP 1000 takes you along a 14‑mile mountain trail carved through towering trees, steep curves, and high‑elevation overlooks with sweeping views of Behm Canal and the Inside Passage. Unlike typical sightseeing tours, this experience puts you in the driver’s seat — literally — offering real adventure, real terrain, and the chance to get muddy, wet, and fully immersed in the wild. With experienced guides leading the way and sharing local insight, you’ll discover the raw beauty of the Tongass in a way that’s thrilling, authentic, and unforgettable. Must be at least 18 years with a valid drivers license and be atleast 57 inches tall to drive, per Alaska State Law.*

Pickup Locations & Times
All guests on NCL will be picked up at Ward Cove. All guests off other ships will be docked downtown and will meet at the Ketchikan Visitors Center by the bronze statue and rain gauge. We will have staff there waiting for you.

Liam and Sadott where very informative, upbeat amd friendly. Wonderful day in ketchikan! It was about 2 hrs plus we were on the UTVs. Great views..learned about flora and fauna from the guys.
Excellent communication during booking. ATV’s had GPS. Extremely safe and new ATV’s. My boys had an absolute blast. Very punctual.
Amazing trail and even better equipment. The best ATV experience we’ve ever had. Matt made it all the better - a true renaissance man with deep forest knowledge and an unnatural affection for mud.
We had an awesome experience. Sadott was a champ coaching folks through the off roading! We had a great time driving safely within the limits of the vehicles and terrain but certainly pushing enough to be really exciting. Also, he was wonderfully engaging when sharing experience and knowledge of the local environment. We would have had fun no matter what, but the experience was genuinely elevated by Sadott's own infectious excitement and enjoyment.
Darius and Sophie were awful guides who made the entire trip miserable. They were rude, highly unintelligent and made the experience a boring waste of time
My husband & I went on this expedition today and it was AWESOME! Our tour guides Val & Liam were absolutely great! They provided all necessary information and were very patient while also providing a wonderful and exciting experience.
