Yihun was a fantastic guide. The showed us Addis and were very friendly too. He was patient and took time to explain everything that was happening. Luckily for us, our tour fell on a day when everyone was commemorating lento and so the churches were full and bustling! Definitely recommend.
Our driver and guide Reta was a funny boy, we have been laughing so much. He come from Lalibela, but he knows Addis very well and his words about city and its history made us understand Addis lifestyle and its people.

Good little city tour. Could do with more time at the museum where they have all the fossils (including Lucy) and less at the ethnographic (no offense, but it just wasn’t as interesting). Also: Make sure you bring toilet paper and hand sanitizer, even though you’re in the city!
Reta was wonderful and very knowledgeable. He showed us so much of Addis Ababa we wouldn’t have discovered on our own. Highly Recommended
I had the absolute pleasure of exploring Addis Ababa with three exceptional guides — Dagim, Yoseph, and Jorge — and I can honestly say it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. From the very first moment, they made me feel welcome, safe, and genuinely excited to discover the city. Their knowledge, professionalism, and passion for Ethiopian history and culture truly set them apart. One of the highlights of the tour was visiting the sarcophagus of Emperor Haile Selassie at Holy Trinity Cathedral. The way they explained the historical and political significance of Selassie’s reign gave the visit incredible depth and meaning. It wasn’t just sightseeing — it was storytelling at its finest. At Addis Ababa University, including the Ethnological Museum, their explanations brought Ethiopia’s rich cultural diversity to life. They connected history, anthropology, and modern Ethiopian society in a way that was both engaging and easy to understand. I left with a much deeper appreciation of the country’s heritage. We also explored the vibrant Mercato (often called the largest open-air market in Africa), where they skillfully guided me through the lively atmosphere, explaining how the market functions, its economic importance, and the daily lives of the people who work there. It felt authentic and immersive, never rushed or superficial. Beyond the main sites, what truly made the experience special were the countless insights they shared about Addis Ababa and the surrounding areas — from local traditions and politics to everyday life and hidden gems around the city. Their ability to answer every question thoughtfully and thoroughly was impressive. Dagim, Yoseph, and Jorge work beautifully as a team. They are knowledgeable, patient, humorous, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Their English is excellent, and they communicate complex topics clearly and engagingly. If you are considering a tour in Addis Ababa and the surrounding region, I cannot recommend them highly enough. They don’t just show you the city — they help you understand it.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed and thoughtful review. We are truly happy to hear that your Addis Ababa city tour was such a meaningful experience. Exploring places like Holy Trinity Cathedral, Addis Ababa University, the Ethnological Museum, and Mercato offers a deep look into the history and daily life of the city, and we’re glad it left such a strong impression. Your kind words about Dagim, Yoseph, and Jorge mean a lot to us. They are passionate about sharing Ethiopia’s story, and it’s wonderful to know their knowledge, teamwork, and dedication made you feel welcome, safe, and fully engaged throughout the tour. At Aman Ethiopia Tours and Travel, our goal is not just to show places, but to help our guests truly understand them. Thank you again for your trust and recommendation. We hope to welcome you back to Ethiopia in the future.
Wonderful 2-Day Experience in Ethiopia We had an excellent 2-day trip to Debre Lebanos Monastery and a City Tour in Addis Ababa with Aman Ethiopia Tours and Travel. Everything was very well organized from beginning to end. Our guide in Portuguese, Mr. Lucy, was very professional, friendly and familiar with local history and culture. The driver, Gerge, was excellent, and traveling in his new BYD car made the experience even more comfortable. After a long and tiring trip from Texas to Cape Town, with a 2-day stop in Addis Ababa, the staff managed to help us with the booking of a good last minute hotel, which was very appreciated. The entire staff is extremely dedicated, especially the tour operator Neway, who was attentive, efficient and always available. We were also very pleased to accept payment by credit card, even with last minute contact. We highly recommend Aman Ethiopia Tours and Travel for those looking for a reliable and high quality service in Ethiopia
Dear Roberta, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We’re truly happy to hear your short stop in Ethiopia turned into a memorable part of your journey. Lucy will be glad to know his guiding made the history and culture come alive for you, and Gerge always takes pride in making every drive comfortable and safe. We also appreciate your kind words about Neway and the team, especially regarding the last-minute hotel arrangement and the payment flexibility. We always try to make things smooth even when plans are tight. It was a pleasure organizing your visit to Debre Libanos and Addis Ababa, and we hope next time you will come for a longer trip to explore more of the country. Warm regards, Aman Ethiopia Tours and Travel
I had a wonderful 2-day trip in Ethiopia visiting Addis Ababa and Debre Libanos with Aman Ethiopia Tours and Travel. After I arrived in Addis Ababa, I was picked up from the airport and dropped at my hotel smoothly. Around 11:00 AM, they picked me up again for an Addis Ababa city sightseeing tour, which was very well organized and enjoyable. Abe was my guide for both days, and he was excellent, knowledgeable, friendly, and made the experience feel relaxed and personal. On the second day, I visited Debre Libanos, and it was a beautiful and peaceful experience. Everything was well timed, and I never felt rushed. Their price was a bit higher compared to some other companies, but the service was truly worth it. The tour included two lunches and a traditional Ethiopian coffee experience, which was a great touch and made the trip even more special. Thank you, Aman Ethiopia Tours and Travel, for a memorable experience. I highly recommend

While travelling from Tokyo on Ethiopian Airlines, I booked a sightseeing tour of the city with Aman Ethiopia Tours and Travel to make the most of my long layover time in Addis Ababa. As a result, it was a great experience. Our guide, **Abe, was knowledgeable and helpful, and our driver, George**, was very courteous and safe to travel. We had them picked up at 7:00 in the morning and guided around the main sights of Addis Ababa over the course of the day. They explained history, culture and atmosphere of the city in an easy to understand way, and it was a very fulfilling time. The tour went smoothly and I was comfortable throughout. At 18:00 in the evening, I was dropped off at Bole International Airport in time for my next flight. It was really nice to be able to fully enjoy the city instead of just spending a long layover at the airport. If you have transit in Addis Ababa, I would really recommend Aman Ethiopia Tours and Travel.
Dear Chivon, Thank you very much for choosing to spend your transit time in Addis Ababa with us and for sharing such a thoughtful review. We’re really glad your long layover turned into a meaningful visit instead of just waiting at the airport. Abe will be happy to hear you enjoyed his explanations about the city’s history and culture, and George always takes pride in making every drive safe and comfortable, especially when guests have a flight to catch the same evening. Your schedule was tight, so it was important for us to keep everything smooth and still allow you to experience the city properly. Knowing you left Ethiopia with good memories means a lot to our team. We hope next time you can return for a longer stay and discover more beyond the capital. Warm regards, Aman Ethiopia Tours and Travel
