Nemea is the largest and oldest wine region in Greece. The wines produced here are of high quality while there are some varieties which are unique in the world such as the red "Agiorgitiko" . There are dozens of wineries to visit, each with its own varieties and wine labels. We have chosen those that will offer you the best wine tasting experience and we will visit two them! Nemea is also known in mythology for Hercules who killed the vicious Lion that lived in the area and Nemean Games, dedicated to Zeus and familiar to the Olympic games. So there can be an optional visit to the archaeological site of ancient Nemea

Optional visit to the archaeological site of Nemea and Temple of Zeus
We will have the opportunity to talk about the wine and the whole process from fruit harvesting to extracting the grape juice, the process of fermentation to wine and finally the bottling process. We’ll take a closer look to all facilities of the winery and explain how it works. We’ll be more than happy to take any questions arise. At the end, we’ll taste delicious wine, enjoy this amazing wine-tasting experience and mingle.

We planned this independently from our cruise (Windstar). We were able to choose two wineries. We chose a small family run winery and a larger one. The family run was our favorite. The views of the countryside was amazing and the wines were excellent and inexpensive compared to wineries in the Napa. Marios was our driver/tour leader and he was on time, friendly and very accommodating.
