Leonor was so friendly and checked with us before our designated time with meeting instructions. We felt very comfortable with her and she was very knowledgeable.
This food tour was hands down one of the highlights of my trip! Every detail was perfectly thought out — from the variety of stops to the delicious flavors, it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The host Leo was incredibly warm, welcoming, and so knowledgeable about the local food, culture, and history. She made this experience very special. I discovered flavors I never would have found on my own, I’ll definitely be recommending this to anyone visiting Colombia — and I will 100% do it again when I come back.
Amazing very personal and intimate tour with a guide who's passion for Colombia, food and Medellin shone through from minute 1 to the end. We were guided through a local, incredibly authentic fruit market. Leonor had everything prepared, information sheets for the things we would try, all the required utensils, bags for waste, salt, honey - she thought of everything. It was topped off by some of the best chicharron I have had. Much better than the usual Medellin menu del dia fare.
We had a brilliant food tour provided by Leonor. Her enthusiasm and love for Colombian food was clear, and her excitement from start to finish made made it a really enjoyable experience. It was really intimate and private. We explored the local fruit market and were introduced to several new fruits, some of which we had never heard of. We finished the morning with a great typical Colombian lunch of bean soup and chicharron with various sides. All in all, a great food tour and would highly recommend! Gracias Leonor!
I did this tour with a couple of friends and we loved it. It is a private/ small group tour with a maximum of 4 people which meant we really got to know Leonor and it was a much more personal experience. Leonor's passion for Colombia and food was infectious! Leonor had thought of everything. We had forks and spoons, honey and salt to add to different fruits. She also provided wipes and bags for rubbish etc. We loved exploring the market and trying the local fruits. The Colombian lunch was a perfect way to end the tour. Leonor also gave us some Colombian sweets to try at the end of the meal! Really great way to try a lot of different authentic Colombian fruits and food. Thanks so much, Leonor, for being a super tour guide!
For anyone wanting to learn more about what ingredients make up Colombian cuisine while in Medellin, this is a great tour to do that! We learned about spices and grains used a lot in Colombian cooking and infusions and aromatic teas as an alternative to the well known Colombian coffee. We also went through the beautiful chaos that is Bloque 27 where we saw a lot of the daily happenings of a produce market and tasted so many great fruits! I think the lunch was a great addition because we were able to sit down and eat a traditional meal in the market complex at the same time that people working there took their lunch so it was just great to be in that local setting. We were also able to chat and ask more questions to Leonor who was such an enthusiastic, passionate, and knowledgeable guide. We felt comfortable the entire time! My partner and I also really appreciated the tote bags the tour provided because we were able to put our water bottles and other stuff in it. We didn't buy fruits or any other items but we can see how the bag would be helpful if we were interested in buying what we sampled in the complex. We highly recommend!
