Borsca gave us a wonderful tour through the Jewish Quarter starting with the Dohany Synagogue. We went through the Synagogue with a tour which included its history past and present with our tour ending by walking through the Quarter. Along the way we saw evidence of the past, good and bad and along the way learnt about the history of some families through the 20th Century. A few hours well spent.
Thank you for taking the time to review. We're proud to work with such terrific guides. Hope to see you again on Insight Cities tours in Berlin, Prague, Vienna, and Salzburg. Please tell your friends!
We had a wonderful and informative tour with our tour guide Andrew. He is truly passionate about Jewish culture and history and has great knowledge about everything we saw on the tour. Additionally, he did a great job keeping the 2 teen and pre-teen boys in our group interesting and entertaining throughout the walking tour. At the end of the tour, we went to a Jewish restaurant for lunch that he recommended and it was awesome too!
Thanks so much for your review. We hope you join us on another Insight Cities tour in the future in Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, or Salzburg.
This was a fantastic tour. I would definitely recommnend to others visiting Budapest. Our tour guide (OSHI) was a graduate in Jewish Studies and knew a huge amount about the heritage, The history and monuments. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thanks very much for your kind review of both of our tours! We're so glad you enjoyed your time with our guides.
We had the pleasure of touring Budapest Day One with Endre this past summer. Budapest was absolutely amazing… but it was Endre (and Kata – see her review) who truly brought it to life for us. His knowledge of the city and its history – indeed, the history of Hungary and Europe in general – was superb. It was as if we were getting private university level tutoring. More than just Endre’s deep knowledge about everything, was his passion as a tour guide. His most important goal was for us to have fun. And fun we had. Budapest was one adventure after another. As we delved into it, we realized that there were certain areas we wanted to spend more time on at the expense of others. Endre had no problem rerouting our tour as we went. He was very flexible and really went with the flow. In short, Endre was warm, outgoing, hilarious, easy to talk to and listen to, energetic, knowledgeable, and just a great human being. We were VERY lucky to have secured him for our first visit to Budapest. We recommend him as highly as we can. A+ for Endre…
Thank you so much for this thorough review. We're so glad you had such a great experience in Budapest with his help. Hope to see you again on our tours! Elizabet at Insight Cities
Kati was our guide. She was the best. This particular tour had a lot of meaning to our group of ten people. Her knowledge was incredible and made it easy for us to understand the history of the Jewish quarter. I would recommend this tour with her.
Hi Reena, we're so glad you and your group enjoyed the tour with Kata! Hope to see you again on any of our Jewish or other tours that we offer in Berlin, Prague, Salzburg & Vienna. Elizabet
Andras, our excellent, thoughtful and well informed guide led us on two 3-hour tours over two days drilling down into the historical significance and history buried in the old city of Budapest first then the second day focusing more upon the Jewish history, synagogues, and the relationships between the Jews and the Hungarian state. Andras easily captured our attention and imagination as we walked and enjoyed learning from his articulate and committed command of both local and historical references. To summarize, he provided a priceless value to our trip. The highest of recommendations!!
My favorite part of this walking tour was that it felt like a university class, with sprawling academic discussions as we walked from site to site. Amazing historians guide you through the subject matter
Thanks so much for the warm review. It's an encouragement to our whole team of expert guides in Central Europe as we hang on during the pandemic/ freeze in tourism. Hope to see you in the future on Insight Cities tours in Berlin and Munich, since you already took tours with us in Prague, Vienna and Budapest!
