A day that combines Hellenistic Period of conquerors and prosperity with the most important pilgrim route of Greece! Our tour will star early in the morning from Thessaloniki center, heading towards the Ancient Vergina or 'Aegae' as per its ancient name. You will get the opportunity to enter into the Tomb of Kind Philip II the father of Alexander the Great. Accompanied by our professional guide you will explore the Hellenic period, starting from the museum where you will admire all the Macedonian treasures and golden art findings form the royal tomb. After a short coffee break, we will continue our day in Veria a town full of religious history. There will be free time to explode the local cuisine during your lunch break.

In our first stop at Ancient Vergina the first capital of Ancient Macedonia, you have the opportunity to admire some unique excavations.
Get the chance to enter into the Tomb of Kind Philip ll, father of Alexander the Great, protected by UNESCO and considered as one of the most important discoveries of the 20th century.
Continuing our tour, we arrive in Veria a town well known for its wealthy religious history. You will have plenty of time to admire the Byzantine and Meta-Byzantine churches and temples here.

I can not commend the guide enough for her knowledge,and willingness and enthusiasm to share it, and the general organisation of the trip. My one very slight reservation was that a quick walk around the actual site at Pella ( only museum is included) was not included. I totally accept that there is very little to see but for the sake of completeness it needed only to have added 15/20 minutes to the day, or taken off the lunch break. This is being very picky, everything else was absolutely perfect.

Amazing tour guide although maybe a bit long. Would have been good to have had an earlier lunch break
Pella was impressive but Vergina was fantastic. The gold handcrafted death wreaths were exceptional. The guide added greatly to the experience.
