Some travel experiences stay with you long after you've returned home. This tour with Sina was one of them. Sina is an exceptional guide — knowledgeable, passionate, and deeply well-versed in the history of Cambodia. He brought the story of the Khmer Rouge era to life in a way that no book or documentary quite can. Whether at the memorials, the museums, or the Killing Fields, Sina narrated the country's painful past with clarity, sensitivity, and depth. Understanding the history of Cambodia is absolutely essential before — or while — visiting these sites, and with Sina, you are in the best possible hands. The tour takes you through one of the darkest chapters of modern history — Cambodia's civil war years, the brutality of the Khmer Rouge regime, and the resilience of its people. It is sobering, emotional, and profoundly important. The Killing Fields, in particular, is a site that will leave a lasting impression. A highlight that deserves special mention is the visit to the Royal Palace. Stunning in its architecture and grandeur, the Palace takes on an entirely different dimension when Sina walks you through it with its rich historical backdrop. His narrative weaves together the splendour of the monarchy, its role during Cambodia's turbulent years, and what it represents for the country today. It elevated what could have been a sightseeing stop into a genuinely enriching experience. On a lighter note, lunch was excellent and thoughtfully arranged — vegetarian options were available, which we appreciated. If you are a history lover, or simply someone who wants to truly understand the country you are visiting, do not skip this tour. Sina makes it an experience that is as informative as it is unforgettable. Highly recommended.
We really enjoyed our trip to learn about the history of Cambodia & Phnom Penh. It was a small group trip which we felt was really beneficial with plenty opportunities to ask questions. Sina was an excellent guide & spoke very good English. He spoke of his families experiences living in Cambodia & what they endured during these extremely difficult times. Refreshments were provided throughout the trip & the air conditioned van was just what was needed. Would recommend this trip….only admissions to various venues had to be paid at very reasonable admission charges.
I didn’t have much time to explore Phnom Penh, so I was looking for a good day tour that would let me see as much as possible in one day — and I found the perfect one. The tour started when our guide, Sina, picked me up at 8 am and ended when he dropped me back off around 3:30 pm. It was a small shared tour with just three of us, which was perfect for me. Sina drove us around to see many of the city’s notable landmarks, including Wat Phnom, the Royal Palace, the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Monument, the Statue of King Father Norodom Sihanouk, the Independence Monument, Wat Langka, the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21), the Choeung Ek Genocidal Center (Killing Fields), and the Central Market. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and learned a lot, especially during the visits to the Killing Fields and the Genocide Museum — these were definitely not easy places to visit. Once again, I’m so glad I booked this day tour. A big thank you to our guide and driver, Sina, for the highly engaging and informative experience. If you’re in Phnom Penh and want to see and learn about the city in just one day, I highly recommend this tour!
Siam is amazing. He really knows his stuff. His English is fantastic and he answered our questions every time in detail. We are really very fussy Aussies and this tour is the best you can buy. He talked about how the Khmer Rouge affected his family and the way it changed his country. We saw the kings palace and the killing fields and museum. The whole time Siam made sure we were comfortable and he had water coke and beer for us to drink.
We had an incredible full-day tour of Phnom Penh and couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Sina. From start to finish, the experience felt highly personalized and thoughtfully paced, allowing us to really take in each location without feeling rushed. Sina’s communication skills were excellent—clear, engaging, and full of insight. At every stop, from the Royal Palace to the monuments and the Killing Fields, he took the time to explain not just what we were seeing, but the deeper history and context behind it. His knowledge and ability to share Cambodia’s story in such a meaningful way made a huge impact on us. What really stood out was how approachable and attentive he was, always happy to answer questions and adapt the tour to our interests. It felt less like a scripted tour and more like exploring the city with a knowledgeable local who genuinely cares about sharing their culture. This tour was the perfect introduction to Cambodia during our short stay, and we’re so grateful to Sina for making it such a memorable and enriching experience. Highly recommend!
I got a touch of heatstroke and she was a great help when that happened, but after that it was back to the Miss Soros show. The constant pushing all day finally erupted at the restaurant she took me to. The salmon wasn't good. I was willing to let it go but she kept pestering me to have them take my food and remake it after I said no. After waiting more than 10 minutes I said to forget it but she TOLD ME to wait because they were working on it. Well it came back out and this time it was super greasy. I paid for it and was pissed. Originally I was just gonna cut some stuff out to try to make up some time, but I just cancelled the tour after that, I wasn't in the mood anymore. Of course she tried to talk me out of it. It was too late. Too much of the focus went away from what I wanted and more towards whatever she wanted to do. If you like being bossed around all day then she's the guide for you. I don't pay to have people boss me around, so I won't be using this service again.
Greeting from Cambodia This is Sina, local tour operator for Phnom Penh city tours! I would like to thank you for visiting and provided us jobs there! And I really appreciate your experience comments! After reading your shared review writing and checking with my team members, we have learned about what happened! Firstly, you booked the tour for 17 April 2026 ! What was your intention that you wanted to do it for 16 April 2026? Secondly, you said tour guide lelft you behind! Do you remember WHO saved you from your sickness, heatstroke? My guide, Srey Sros and my pure heart people, palace officials!!! At Restaurant, She felt for your health and wanted you to have better energy meals, but It was just a bit over cooked and you felt about it! Ok, it was thier mistake, but they remake it for you ;and for sure, it took longer for waiting! And after that you had them all and no double charging !!! Did you remember that??? In over view, we just would like express unintentional mistakes and wish you good health and safe travels 🙏 Kindly Regards Sina
Great day with lots to see and do. Some of the places we visited were horrific and eye opening such as S21 prison and the Killing Fields. Sina, our driver and tour guide was excellent. He was very knowledgeable regarding Cambodia’s history. As a result, it made the tour more interesting and enjoyable
Extremely informative and deeply moving. Sina was a superb guide. Would strongly recommend this trip.
Very intresting tour very well presented by Mrs Len. Our guide had a great knowledge in the history of Cambodia and the attractions worth seeing in Phnom Pehn. She had a good knowledge in English and was able to answer our questions about what we saw in a good way.
very interesting and well presented tour . Mr Silong was our guide on this trip ,he made us feel really welcome and explained the itinerary from the outset . He was very knowledgeable and kept us interested the whole time . The Killing fields and S 21 are obviously emotional places for anyone to visit and I thought Mr Silong gave us the time we required to come to terms with what we were seeing . The tour was very well organised and I would recommend it . Thank you Mr Silong for a very imformative and interesting tour ,one I'm sure we will always remember .
