This trip could have been amazing. But, they didn't deliver. Our hotel in Rio was a downgrade with worn out rooms, peeling paint and a sewer odor. When we complained the response was that it was a standard 4 star hotel. They didn't even try to fix it. The tours were not what was on our itinerary. They came at times earlier and later and lasted as long as they went. In Rio our guide spoke little English. So we went a bunch of places and had to look it up on the internet. The second day tour only went to one place. Not all the places on the itinerary. In Buenos Aires, our tour guide showed up an hour early. We went to a bunch of stores which we had no interest in. The tour took so long that we had to Uber back to our hotel to get to the nights show. We were so late we didn't have time to shower and almost missed the show. Do yourself a favor. Take the itinerary and make the reservations independently. This outfit is terrible. We were so over all the problems that when our last hotel's electricity in our room didn't work, we moved hotels and flushed the money down the toilet.
Viator outsources each of the tours included in this 9-Day Trip to local tour operators. In our case, Signature Tours (based in Buenos Aires) did all of the hotel bookings, transfers and day tours. They did a great job in coordination and confirmed each day's itinerary and pick-up times via both email and What's Up. They booked us in NH City Hotel in Buenos Aires in a very good location in the Centro section. In Iguaza, they booked us in a nice resort called the Grand Carima. This hotel had excellent themed buffets every night. In Rio, they booked us in Augustus Rio Copa hotel which is rated 4-stars but even their porter admitted that it is really a 3-star hotel because the hotel is very old. The location was good, one block from CopaCabana Beach.
Very good customer service and easy communication via whatsapps. Free days in-between different cities unavoidable given that everyone's arrival time at different cities might be different. Good if more activities are included in the package though.
Excellent and professional work, with prompt follow-up and answering of questions (I had left a question in the chat about currency exchange rates, they could not reach me on my phone and contacted me through the our tour guide). Top tier services of hotels, tours and transfers. The itinerary (9 days Buenos Aires, Iguazu, Rio de Janeiro) seems time-pressed, however with a well-organised flight scheduling, you can enjoy three very different places, each with its own unique identity. The whole trip leaves you with a pleasant and balanced mix of experiences of cultural elements and images, natural beauty and its exploration as well as the vibrant, lively and full of excitement way of life.
