Get truly off the beaten path near the heart of 5,596 meter Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (Yulongxueshan) during a full-day hike on this seldom-travelled route. Just outside the bustling tourism mecca of Lijiang and in near-guaranteed solitude, you’ll follow the path of what was once the southernmost valley glacier in the northern hemisphere. After a picnic lunch, have the choice of extending the route on more challenging terrain, or casually returning the way you came, with plenty of time to take pictures or lounge in alpine meadows along the way.
