Itinerary
After pick up from the hotel, we are heading to Penang Hill, a famous hill resort since 1788. We will ride a funicular train up to the peak at 735 m above sea level, on a 1996m long railway which was built in 1923. Enjoy the cool air while seeing the panorama view of Penang, natural tropical rain forest view surrounded the hill, and heritage buildings since British colonial period.
Penang Hill and its surrounding to the west was designated as Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2021. The Habitat Penang Hill provides us a chance to walk inside and has a close look of the tropical rainforest aged 130 million year old, on an easy access nature trail. We also can enjoy a beautiful view of surrounding forest, seas and islands from the Curtis Crest Treetop walk, at 815m above sea level.
Kek Lok Si is a large Buddhist complex with many temples. Follow our experience tour guide to explore all the temples at the complex, especially the 7 storeys tall Ten Thousand Buddhas Pagoda, and a 30.2m tall bronze statue of Kuan Yin (Goddess of Mercy) covered by a huge pavilion.
Our tour guide will bring you to experience various delicious local cuisine and street foods during the lunch time.
Wat Chayamangkalaram is a Siamese Buddhist temple founded by Phra Phorthan Kuad in 1845. The temple features a 33m long reclining Buddha statue built in 1958.
A Buddhist temple established by the Burmese community in Penang from 1803. Stupa is the oldest portion of the temple, which was built in 1805. The standing Buddha statue at the shrine hall with golden carving backdrop is also a must see
A street with plenty of historical pre-war shophouses, temples, mosque and street arts (like the famous sister and brother on bicycle mural art).

Ronald Wong was an excellent guide and within our 6 hour tour we learnt so much about Georgetown and Malaysian culture. Ronald took time to explain many historical, religious, cultural and social aspects that make Georgetown so unique. The places we visited were varied and this made the tour very interesting. Ronald encouraged us to ask questions, which he answered clearly and, when necessary, in some detail. The tour flowed seamlessly, as Ronald managed all the admissions and organisational aspects with little fuss. Our driver, Stephen, got us from place to place capably, maximising the short time we had in Georgetown. We highly recommend this tour!
Thank you and glad that you like Penang and George Town. Hope to see you again in future.
Ronald Wong of WEJOY Tours was a fantastic, knowledgeable & helpful guide. We learned & saw so much, which would have been impossible without an experienced guide. Highly recommend to those with limited time in Penang wanting a comprehensive overview of the area. Richard & Norma
