6 Days Machame Route Kilimanjaro Climbing

I had an amazing experience climbing Kilimanjaro with African Trek and Travel. I shared the journey with a very nice German guy, two wonderful guides, Valence and Emmanuel, and a team of eight porters who made everything possible. Everyone was incredibly kind, professional, and supportive, creating a fantastic atmosphere throughout the trek. The organization was excellent, and the whole experience was unforgettable. I highly recommend African Trek and Travel to anyone planning to climb Kilimanjaro!

The 6-day Machame Route was an unforgettable adventure and one of the best experiences of my life. The route is incredibly scenic, with diverse landscapes ranging from lush rainforest to alpine desert and stunning views all the way to the summit. The itinerary was well planned, allowing good acclimatization and making the climb challenging but achievable. The guides were professional, knowledgeable, and extremely supportive, always motivating us and ensuring our safety and comfort. The food was surprisingly good and kept our energy up throughout the trek. Reaching Uhuru Peak was an emotional and rewarding moment that I will never forget. I highly recommend the 6-day Machame Route to anyone looking for a challenging, beautiful, and well-rounded Kilimanjaro climb.

My climb to the top was a big dream. This team made it come true. The Guide (Kelvin): He knew everything. When I was tired and cold at night, he helped me. He always said “You can do it.” He is the best guide. The Cooker: The food was always hot and good. It gave me energy every day. The Waiter: Every morning, he brought me hot water to wash. He brought all three meals to my tent with a smile. He made me feel cared for. The Toilet Crew: He set up a clean toilet tent every day. Even on rainy days, I could use it easily. This small thing was a big help. The Porters: They carried the tents, bags, and everything. They worked very hard. Every afternoon, they made a warm camp for us. The Whole Team: They were kind, strong, and happy. They sang songs and kept us safe. This team is like a big family. They will take good care of you. If you want to climb this mountain, choose them. You will be safe and happy with them. I thank them with all my heart.

We can warmly recommend our guide Sebastian and his entire fantastic team. Together we climbed Kilimanjaro and reached the top of the whole family – a wonderful and unforgettable experience. Both guides were incredibly caring, genuinely committed and constantly made sure we were well. The pace was perfectly adapted to us, and we felt safe and well taken care of all the way up to the top. The food was extraordinary – varied and very good. We lacked absolutely nothing, on the contrary, it was amazing what the chef managed to conjure up on a mountain. The whole team was extremely dedicated and present, from when we were woken up with hot tea in the mornings to the last day when we came down from the mountain, tired but so satisfied and happy. We really recommend Sebastian and his team and would especially encourage others to choose local, small businesses. They do this with heart, and the experience is both more personal and even better than with the big players. This is without a doubt one of the best adventures we have ever done and experienced.

I encountered serious problems while climbing Kilimanjaro. The problems were❌ The services or plans that were educated in advance were not received properly. There were difficulties in the travel and guiding arrangements and I was deprived of the support of the guide. The communication response was late or inadequate. I advise others to be careful.

Sebastian and his team are kind, professional and funny all in good measure. We arrived not really knowing what to expect and were amazed by the wonderful service and attention to detail. The climb and summit far exceeded anything we could have wished for. We felt safe and supported with every step. Their pricing is really reasonable which leaves more left over to show your gratitude to the guys who make your summit possible. They completely Tanzanian owned and run too. So glad we chose this team!

We highly recommend this company. Fortuitously we contacted Sebastian (who is very responsive) the evening before a trek started having switched from a previous company and everything was sorted out for us joining (including vegetarian food) quickly and efficiently. We met him at the equipment hire shop the next morning to sort out any missing kit. The prices are extremely reasonable and the whole crew are super professional, but also a lot of fun to be with. The food is great and plentiful. We had an amazing experience and absolutely could not have done it without any one of them. Also great that you are supporting a locally owned business rather than an international one.
