A scenic 1-hour drive takes you from the city deep into the Chagres National Park — a protected rainforest that covers over 120,000 hectares. Watch Panama City disappear as the jungle takes over. The Embera community will be waiting at the riverbank.
A short jungle hike leads you to Bonita Waterfall — a hidden natural gem inside Chagres National Park. Swim in fresh crystal-clear water surrounded by tropical forest. This is the moment that always makes travelers say it was worth the trip.

Wonderful day! Jose and our Embera guide Gabriel were wonderful and very helpful with my mom during the hike, helping her navigate some of the steeper terrain. The waterfall was refreshing and lovely. At the Embera village, the performance was a blast and we all danced. The fish/plantain/fruit lunch was great too. All in all a lovely day. FYI the cost to enter the village was $40, and their handicrafts were beautiful but pricey. Bring cash as they don’t take cards (no cell service).

This was a wonderful experience. We were picked up at our hotel and driven to the boat dock. The drive was uneventful. At the dock we boarded a small boat and headed to the waterfall. The water was up, so there was no hike. The waterfall was gorgeous. After a swim, we went to the Embera village. Seeing and experiencing their culture was we worth the cost. We learned much about them, ate lunch, and had the opportunity to purchase some crafts. After, it was back on the boat and in the car. If you are thinking of doing this, don't hesitate. It was a fantastic day.

Great tour and you get to immerse yourself in indigenous Panamanian culture. Private transportation to the village but ensure you are at the front of the boat taking you through the river so you can see the sights en route. José was a great guide. Make sure you bring cash if you want to buy things the villagers make - jewellery, accessories etc. make sure you sit down early for the show to ensure you can see it as if you’re a few rows back you cannot see anything - everyone sitting in rows are on the same level. All in all a great day. Picked up about 8am and back by about 1/2pm Depending on how long you want to stay at Embera shopping/ looking around. Would def recommend this tour!!!!

José Acevedo was our guide on this trip to the Embera villige and the hinden waterfall. José send us very useful information before the trip regarding what to pack. He picked us up right in time, took us through how the day would go, and provided a lot of usefull information and knowledge through the day plus a helping hand when needed. The canoe ride and hike to the waterfall was absolutely gorgeous. Amazing learning about the Embera culture and friendly people. The best tilapia we have ever tasted. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and accommodating. Would highly recommend taking advantage of this tour when visiting Panama.

This was absolutely a 10/10 tour. José was our guide and he did a wonderful job interpreting everything to English. He was patient and thoughtful- willing to answer any questions but also not fill our quiet appreciation of nature with chit chat. This was the best tour we experienced in Panamá so far! It was truly a once in a lifetime experience. Pickup and drop off was easy and smooth. Remember your $30 cash for the Embera community. Bring extra $$ to purchase handicrafts. Wear shoes you can hike in but also get wet. We loved every minute! José even sent us candid photos he took during the tour :)
