this historic district of Tangier is still very much alive and well worth the time to visit. It's very easy to get lost in this veritable maze of narrow streets and old houses, so consider bringing a guide.
The Tangier American Legation is a building in the medina of Tangier, Morocco. She is the first American public property outside the United States

What a fantastic way to experience Tangier! This tour covers all the best highlights, and our guide went completely above and beyond for us. They made sure our entire family was comfortable, well-entertained, and fully accommodated throughout the day. If you’re planning a day trip to Tangier, this tour is an absolute must!
Said is an amazing organizer of guided tours. He provides the most impeccable service, from our discussions pre-trip about tour options, to communication immediately before the trip to confirm details, to discussing during the tour how things are going, and at the end asking if we enjoyed ourselves. Said seems to know everyone in Tangier and everything to do, and we had a marvelous time, walking in the Casbah, touring the souks, driving in the different neighborhoods of Tangier, riding camels along the beach, touring the Hercules Cave and more! We also had Said organize day trips to Chefchaouen (the Blue City) and a desert/Atlas Mountains tour in Marrakesh. All were marvelous. He made sure our 18-year-old son had fun. He is so flexible - you can tell him what you like and don't like and he adjusts on the fly. He strives to be helpful and is full of energy and enthusiasm for his job. You can't ask for a nicer, more helpful guide in the wonderful country in Morocco
Canadian here…..A fantastic 5-star tour by our guide Mohammed. Very nice comfortable 6 seat van for our private group. All the highlights around town, a fantastic lunch at a restaurant that had great views and then a walk around the markets and old town. Took us to lots of vendors but no pressure at all to buy anything - very knowledgeable and would recommend 100%.
We really enjoyed getting to know Tangiers with Said’s help. He showed us some unexpected interesting aspects of the city. He also took us to do the usual things: ride camels, walk through the market, see beautiful beach views. He was prompt and the car was super comfortable. He appears to know half the people of Tangier, it was interesting to watch their interactions. However, he spent a significant amount of time on his phone and, most unprofessionally, took us to his family restaurant for lunch which, while delicious, was *very* expensive and we felt like we had no choice but to eat there. Also the weird sales pitch for spices from his friend made us uncomfortable.
Very good throughout. Great guide and easy to just follow along and enjoy everything worth seeing. A lot of passport controls though but it has nothing to do with Said Tours. Important to stamp the passport on the boat to Tangier
I can highly recommend this tour. We had a day each in Tanger and Chefchaouen. Everything was excellent. Shout out to Hamid, Monserrat, and Achmed who were all knowledgeable and patient with our varied demands…all with a sense of humor!
Mister Said is very professional and took care of everything. He book the taxi for pick up at our hotel in spain, ferry ticket and was waiting for us at the dock of Tangiers . We visited many places in the old medina with our guide who knows everything about Tangiers. Lunch was very tasty in a typical morrocan restaurant with an amazing views of the city. We enjoyed every moment in our visit perfectly organized from A to Z. We highly recommend Said Private Tours to anyone visiting Tangiers !
We had a pretty busy day in Tangiers after Said met us at the port. We traveled in a Mercedes van that was very comfortable. We saw all of Tangier’s and had a wonderful lunch of typical Moroccan food, which was quite tasty and as well as pricey. Did some shopping and wrapped up a great day in Tangier. Thank you for your hospitality Said.
Said runs a tight ship! The guides that he works with are very professional and well trained. In addition, they all have excellent manners and are very caring about the people they are guiding. Said is very well-known and respected in the area, so that provides another layer of protection for the people that choose his services. They are knowledgeable about history, customs, architecture, and even some of the botany and biology of the local world. As a solo woman traveler, I really appreciated the feeling that I was protected from any uncomfortable interactions, and I could just focus on the beauty and magic of Morocco. The guides were friendly, respectful, and kind. Our vehicles were always very comfortable, well-maintained, and clean. The conditioner worked well, which I really appreciated. I was able to see everything that I wanted to see, because they customize your trip to enable that. If you are thinking of hiring a guide, I would say look no further. He also has the capability to book larger tours throughout Morocco. They picked me up to and from the ferry, then went on the initial day tour around Tangier and then I hired them again for day trips throughout the area. On my incoming ferry trip I got dreadfully ill the night before and had to travel later than expected which could have been catastrophic, but through his connections Said was able to make it all work out. These types of connections can make or break a trip, so I was so grateful to Said. I will most certainly book with Said when I come back to Morocco again, thank you so very much Said and team.
What an incredible day. From the get go the tour company operator Said was providing helpful information on how to navigate the ferry crossing from Spain to Morocco (we decided to book this ourselves) and on the day of our tour we were met right at the doors of the port by Mohamed holding a sign with our names. Mohamed was a real character and a great guide with perfect English and a ton of local knowledge (he knows absolutely everyone in Tangier). The day went off without a hitch: the tour car is new and impeccably clean, Mohamed accompanied us on every step of the journey, all of the activities and sights are already organized and paid for (except lunch) and honestly it was the little touches that made it. For example we needed to use the restroom at one of the stops and it wasn't until we were walking in that we realized Mohamed had already paid the attendant for us to use the bathroom so we didn't need to worry. We stopped for lunch at a great restaurant just outside the Kasbah and it was some of the best food we have ever eaten. It's not as cheap as some places in Tangier but its well worth the money. The tour operator Said even popped in to say hello and brought us some more local foods to try. Honestly this was one of our favorite days on holiday, from the camel ride to the snake charmer to the labyrinthine markets of the old quarter, we always felt safe and we had a fantastic time.
