I made sure I did not book a Chinese tour. I had an English tour guide however the day before going to Yellowknife the tour company told me I was in a Chinese tour. They did not try to place me on another tour that was English. One tour guide Lia tried to converse in English and Chinese. Theresa tried but was not very competent in translating from mandarin to English. I paid too much money for the tour that I received. Would not recommend this tour company if you want English as they did not even try to place me with an English tour when it was their error.
The tour operator mostly service for Chinese tourists while it was not known in any information from Viator. As the matter of fact the operator’s name is a bailable only in Chinese letters that made us difficult to find them when picked up at the airport. The tour guides are not fluent in English and speak Mandarin almost all the time. It was more than different to know what was explained or described during the tour. We found another couple from Texas in the same group of tourists, who expressed the exact same language/communication issues with operating company. I strongly believe there is almost no communication between the operating company and Viator as the tour guide requested me to show the itinerary in English provided by Viator. Overall, l should say that Viator is very poor to coordinate the local operating company for any tourist who can’t understand Mandarin. It is almost lied that the tour language is English.
Throughout the 4D3N tour, everything was well organized. The tour guides were professional and friendly. They helped guests taking many nice pictures. The vehicles were clean and comfortable. Value for money and highly recommended.
I have done alot of research before make a plan to Yellowknife to see NOrthern light. Aurora viewing village stood out to me from my research, from customer service on the phone, to the hotel pricing, to Season, to the Month to go. Their web site was crystal clear with information. I would highly recommend Aurora Village. You will NOT be disppointed.
Every staff is very enthusiastic and professional, happy to help each customer solve the problem. The first night leads us to see the magnificent lights of this unforgettable life and have a pleasant holiday.
This was an awesome tour that I would recommend. Our guide Evon was very friendly and attentive, showing care for every guest on the tour. The Hotel was also very nice (better that I expected honestly) fairly new and comfortable, the only thing that would need to improve is the food quality at the restaurant (stayed at the Chateau). I would take the same tour if I were going to return.
Very good service. On time. They look for different places to see the auroras. The guides very attentive and helpful. I stayed at the Chateau Nova hotel, very comfortable, quiet and central. The spacious rooms. If they agree on the time they propose to have more opportunities to see them. They get you clothes from Nieves, it's totally what I knew.
Great tour group. Penny was excellent guide. The pictures she took of aurora alone will supplement our perfectly. And we saw the aurora all 3 nights.
I had a lifetime of memories from this tour. Thanks to aurora hunting, we saw the aurora borealis for three consecutive days (although one day was cloudy and only a little bit visible). We enjoyed the Wildlife Preserve and Takhini Hot Spring tour and also we were very happy to see Aurora on our last night. They explained it in a way that was easy for us to understand, even though we were not good at English, and we were very blessed with Guides. The Guides, drivers and other participants were all very kind to me as I dropped my phone. The optional Cameronfalls trek was also really fun. The Guides will explain a lot, give you a great view and take a lot of photos, so we would definitely like you to take an optional tour. The hotel was in Chateau Nova, but they had a suite for us. It was comfortable every day with a kitchen and a large sofa. If you stay for a long time, you need to be careful only in that regard as no cleaning will be done (you can get a towel right away if you ask at the front desk). The staff at the hotel here were all kind. It was a really satisfying trip. Thank you to everyone involved in the tour. If you are in doubt, we highly recommend you join this tour.
It was a great and outstanding experience! We really enjoyed it a lot. Everything had been planned correct! We had an excellent service with the schedule always under control.
