Start the morning at the largest park in central Lisbon. Walk along the central manicured hedge slopes to the top viewpoint to observe the geometric perspective over the city center, the Marquis of Pombal statue, and the Tagus River.
Drive to the historical heart of the city to view the fortress-like Lisbon Cathedral (Sé). Built in the 12th century, this monument combines Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque architecture, standing as a historical symbol of the city's resilience through regional earthquakes.
Head to the highest natural vantage point in the historical quarters. This panoramic viewpoint offers a wide view of the city’s red-tiled roofs, the São Jorge Castle, the downtown Pombaline grid, and the Tagus estuary.
Head into the monumental district of Belém. Observe the Manueline architecture of the Jerónimos Monastery, built during the 16th century. Step inside the Church of Santa Maria de Belém (free admission area) to see where explorer Vasco da Gama and poet Luís de Camões are buried.
Explore the exterior of the Belém Tower, a UNESCO World Heritage site built to guard the entrance of Lisbon's harbor. Learn about its historical role as a fortress and a symbol of Portugal’s maritime history.
Stop at the Monument to the Discoveries, which honors historical navigators and explorers on the riverfront. Conclude the full-day tour with a stop at the historical local bakery to taste an original Pastel de Belém.

This is an excellent way to to see Lisbon for the first time. Our guide, Andres, was easy going and very knowledgeable. He provided excellent descriptions of the history and culture of Lisbon as well as Portugal in general. I especially liked the way that Andres pointed out various little things such as an architectural detail, the derivation of a Portuguese word or phrase, a particular point of interest that wasn't part of the main tour, etc. I highly recommend this tour.
