Your local great guide will pickup from your downtown Guangzhou hotel or train station if you travel by train. Upon meeting, spend few mins to discuss about the places you are interested to visit. First make a stop at Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, once built in the Qing Dynasty by wealthy Chen family, now displays exquisite wood, brick, stone, clay, ivory carvings and the unique and rare collections of silk embroidery, ceramics, painting etc. Get great overview of traditional Lingnan culture, custom while appreciate the charming old architectures.
Next head to one of the city’s oldest Buddhist Temple, Temple of Six Banyan Tree, explore different complex of the monastery, pagoda while learning the fascinating religious culture, custom and wisdom from your guide.

We had a great private tour in Guangzhou with Josephine. Her English was great and she was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We were able to customize our tour given we had been to some of the listed destinations already. Driver was super friendly too. So glad I found this tour via Viator last minute-would definitely recommend!
We had a great afternoon with Josephine walking through the old city of Guangzhou and learning some local history. Even though it was quite rainy we still enjoyed it very much.
Very educational on past and present life style in China. Be prepared for a lot of walking , especially in the historic park.

The tour guide was very nice, and very flexible. Tour could have been a bid more organized. Even though it is flexible tour we expected for the guide to have basic itinerary for us to choose from as we were not familiar with the city and didn’t know what we could do in 4 hours. However, the guide, Michael, gave us few suggestions on the spot, we went to see few historical places and he timed activities well so we can go up Canton Tower at sunset to see the city light up at night. He also gave us suggestions for dinner and was not rushing us to leave even though with all the traffic tour took longer than 4 hours. At the end we were happy we took a tour as it would have been difficult for us to navigate the city alone given limited time we had.
