Description

Enjoy a rainforest walk and visit a Totem Park on our 3 hour excursion in scenic Ketchikan, Alaska on this small group tour with local guide. Explore the lush green rainforest of Alaska among huge old growth trees and moss blanketing the forest floor.  The remote nature trail follows a cascading creek and we stop at a beautiful waterfall viewing area.  The trail does have several sets of stairs and uphill / downhill portions. Experience natures beauty up close and step into this treasured land on our approximately 1.5 mile hike.  Escape the crowds and take in the fresh air and peacefulness of the forest. We also journey to the Totem Park where your local guide will share stories behind the majestic totem poles and the Alaska Native culture with you.  Our excursions are small groups of 11 guests or less and we include pick up at the cruise ship dock. Wild Wolf Tours is a local family owned business and we love to share our beautiful surroundings with you.

Wonderful Way to Experience the Natural Beauty of Ketchikan

We wanted to get out and see more of Ketchikan than just downtown so on our weekend trip we booked this 3 hour rainforest walk tour. Our guides were on time right where we were supposed to meet. Adam and Gatlin were such friendly nice guys. Our shuttle was clean and Gatlin kept us entertained by answering all of our questions on the drive and tour. We hiked through the most beautiful, lush and green rainforest, saw a waterfall , hung out at a beach and then went on a totem park tour. You could tell that Gatlin loves his job and is super knowledgeable about everything. I would definitely recommend this company and tour to anyone visiting Ketchikan!

Nice Walk

Very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. If you have issues with too many steps you might want to skip. The tour should supply a head photo system. If you were not walking near the guide you could not hear him.

Great hike through the...

Great hike through the Sitka spruce and Red Cedar rainforest. Kevin, the guide, was very personable. We even got a great cookie from a local bakery to end the tour!

Our Favorite Excursion

This was supposed to be a small group excursion but ended up being just our group. Our guide Tori was local (which we loved) and so knowledgeable about the area. We enjoyed learning about the history of Ketchikan. She pointed out specific trees, plants, and sea critters when we were along the shore. This was a fantastic tour and we loved every bit of it!

Lovely hike on a beautiful day

We had a beautiful day in Ketchikan and enjoyed our hike through the forest to the beach very much. We saw a beautiful waterfall and sea stars. Gatlin was a great guide - personable and informative. This walk is fairly strenuous for to the incline and many stairs.

Gabe was great!

Gabe was our tour guide and he was absolutely fantastic! Had a wonderful knowledge of the flora and fauna of the area, especially the coves we visited at low tide, and of the Potlach Park totems and native culture. We had a lovely hike and morning with Gabe, learning about the local Alaska culture and lifestyle here in Ketchikan.

Looking for a closer look at Ketchikan’s hidden beauty?

This was a fantastic experience! Our guide was Kevin. He took us along the trail and gave us tons of information about the trees, wildlife, and history of the area. Since our group was smaller, we had extra time to ask plenty of questions. The whole tour took about 3 hours, with plenty of time to get back on our cruise ship after. It was quite a bit of walking on trails, but never anything that felt dangerous or unsafe! Overall, I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who is wanting a deeper look at Ketchikan and the indigenous culture there. It easily was my favorite thing we did on our entire trip!
