We went out with Captain Ben and had an amazing trip. At first we saw just sea lions, but when we spotted dolphins in the distance, it turned out to be a large group of dolphin pods swimming together. Saw dozens of them, if not close to a hundred. There were babies, too—-so adorable. We didn’t get to see any whales, but the sheer amount of dolphins we encountered and the close proximity to them made it all worthwhile.
Being in a small boat close to the water made interacting with the dolphins was incredible. We came in contact with a dolphins pod consisting of 50 dolphins. You could talk and interact with them. The captain was increfible
We’ve been on 3 different whale watching trips in San Diego. This is the company you want. Captain Kyle is very knowledgeable, experienced and fun! We had a wonderful experience. Would definitely book with them again!
We had such an amazing experience with Rick! The ride felt adventurous but safe and we saw 25 whales! We even went into Mexican waters which was cool. Highly recommend paying the few extra bucks for this very small group (6) and the small boat. Such a unique and special experience!!
Great experience! The smaller boat is definitely the way to get close to the Whales. They actually hide behind the smaller rafts to avoid the bigger boats
We didn't see whales, but had a fantastic time anyway. One cannot summon whales at will, but no worries, Rick was a great guide, with lots of info about weather, whales, and San Diego's whale life in particular. Highly recommended!
Amazing experience! Guide found a humpback and we got to watch as he put on a show for us!
I did a large boat whale watching tour two days before this one. The small boat is definitely the best way to see the whales.
This was a spectacular tour with an outstanding guide. We saw loads of dolphins and gray whales. The smaller boats made the tour much more intimate, and as we learned, the smaller boats are better for the whales. Highly recommend. We would do this tour again right now if we could.
Had a great experience with a professional, knowledgable, and environmentally considerate guide. We got lucky and saw gray whales, dolphins, and sea lions on our tour. Seeing whales is not guaranteed but both boats worked together to give us the best experience possible! As someone who gets motion sick, I took dramamine and did not feel sick on their boat and really enjoyed speeding across the water.
