3-hour experience through the Tortuguero canals

Rafa was a fantastic tour guide. He's native to the island, so it was a very personal tour. He knows all of the really good spots to visit and doesn't rush the tour. I saw some amazing wildlife, and it felt like I was transported to a different world. I did both the river tour and the night hike. I highly recommend you do both! Rafa embodies the Pura Vida spirit, and it shows during the tour. You can tell he loves Costa Rica and Tortuguero. I would definitely take a tour with him next time I visit Tortuguero!

We had two nights at Tortuguero and would have liked to have stayed a little longer. Our stay at Rafa and on the island we found really unique. A world in itself with a relaxed atmosphere. Just like Rafa himself... relaxed, always cheerful and up for a joke 😁 The three of us went up the river in Rafa's canoe. You can see from everything that he knows Tortuguero inside out and has a huge passion for nature and animals there. He is very good at spotting all the special animals, which were completely invisible to us. What made our experience extra special was that Rafa not only explained a lot about nature, but also shared a piece of his own life and passion with us. This made our stay and the fantastic tour feel personal and from the heart. An absolute must if you really want to experience Tortuguero. 🪇🪇🪇

The experience with Rafa has been fantastic. Both me and my partner loved it. Despite going out one stormy day, Rafa did his best to get as many animals as possible. He even went a longer route to make the team happy. Recommended 100%. Quite a crack.

We did a very impressive canoe trip with Rafa. Just in time at 6:00 in the morning we started three. You quite quickly notice that Rafa, who grew up in Tortuguero himself, does the tour with heart and soul. We first went with an outboard motor to a side arm of the lagoon, then paddled deeper and deeper into the jungle. Not only have we seen many animals, just the quiet gliding and the soundscape of the animals was pure meditation. Other boats, some with 10-20 tourists on board, we had long left behind. Rafa shared his broad knowledge of the flora and fauna. My wife and I would like to thank you again for this great adventure! We would recommend everyone to do this tour.

The best experience in Tortuguero. We did a boat tour in which Rafa treated us great. He is a very cheerful and very close person, and adapts to your tastes. We saw many animals and also knew the culture there, as Rafa was explaining everything very well. It is a super recommended and very personalized tour.

We have done the private tour with Rafa Albir and it was wonderful, Over three hours enjoying his explanations and how much fun it is. I've repeated with him after 12 years... I deliberately sought him out because I loved it. He won't let you down!
