This was such an amazing 3 day adventure. The Amazon itself is incredible and there is so much to see. The guide we had, Jorge, was so knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience. The local community we visited were so friendly and kind towards us tourists. The second day was amazing going to monkey island and seeing the monkeys run free and being playful with the people. The second stop was a rescue place however the few animals that were there are in small cages and I am unsure if they were fed properly, the sloth certainly didn’t have fresh leaves to eat. It was incredible being so close to these animals and that was a highlight for sure. I just wish they were taken care of a bit better by the people keeping them. On the last day we were meant to do piranha fishing but our guide suggested if we wanted to pay a little extra to see the Yanayuaca river and to see some of the ancient trees he would love to take us. We jumped at the opportunity because we wanted to see a little bit more of nature and the animals in the Amazon. On the way we spotted 3 wild sloths in the trees, a coral snake (which was quite scary) and the ancient trees were so indescribably large. It was worth every cent. If I could suggest that this be included in the tour it would be such a treat for everyone!! This tour is great but you scratch the very surface of what the Amazon has to offer. And going deeper into the jungle is a way better experience and you see so much more.
