We had an enjoyable time on the houseboat, the chef cooked us tasty meals, would like to Thank Joseph for getting the for my insulin medication it was greatly appreciated. The only I would say that there needs to be an improvement on towels for guests. Kind regards, Clydella and Zane.
Thank you Clydella for writing a reivew about your Alleppey backwater houseboat stay. Thank you for Your suggestion about the towels and we decided to replace all the towels.
Overall disappointed by this service for its uninteresting journey and the unkindness of the crew. Despite its smallness the boat stays only on the main canals without interest, only the short one hour boat ride was really pleasant and interesting, its driver was kind and helpful. During the cruise, the boat stopped twice in uninhabited places and without real interest, the first time to eat was a place littered with garbage and occupied by stray dogs. The second time, for dinner and sleep, the place was any place and again without interest. The crew was very distant, barely spoke to us and provided no description or explanation of the course and local life on the Backwaters. Minimalist service, almost unpleasant. At lunch my request to reheat the dishes normally served hot was not taken into account. This cruise gave us the impression of missing out on what this privileged moment on the Backwaters should have brought us. I therefore recommend against this provider and a departure from Canoe City too far from the interests.
Dear Guest, I am Sreekumar, the owner of this company. As the date of travel and the boat name were not mentioned, we assume you travelled on Boat Ganga, our small traditional boat with premium facilities. Regarding your comments: Itinerary: This route is actually one of our most appreciated itineraries, as the smaller boat allows us to travel through narrow rivers and canals where larger boats cannot go. Over the past two months, we have hosted around 180 bookings on this route and have received many positive reviews. One-hour canal trip: The canal passes through the interior areas of Kainakari village. Very few operators include this unique village route in their itinerary. We include this in all our boat trip. Parking location: If guests request a different parking spot, our crew will gladly change the location. As stray dogs are commonly seen in many parts of Alleppey, this is unfortunately beyond our control, but our staff will always try to relocate the boat when informed. Staff and service: We sincerely apologize if the service did not meet your expectations. We will review this with our team and work to improve. Food reheating is always available, and any issue may have been due to a language barrier during the trip. We truly value all guest feedback and will review the points raised to improve our service wherever necessary. Thank you for sharing your experience.
We spent one night on a houseboat as the conclusion of our three-week trip to India. After all the stress and hustle in Rajasthan, it was a perfect way to end our journey. 21 hours of doing nothing but experiencing tranquility, admiring the scenery, and enjoying the food. Thank you so much, we would do it again anytime.
You have travelled in our Boat Ganga. Thank you for writing a review and we are glad that you had a memorable tour in Alleppey.
Great value. Huge boat for just two guests. Driver and two other staff friendly and food provided excellent and plentiful. Only downside the boat is looking a little old but it didn’t bother us. Great relaxing chilled out experience

A fantastic trip. Sarath & jijeesh (chef and driver) were really friendly. Food is fit for a king, Scenery and bird life is stunning. What a lovely relaxing experience. Would highly recommend.
We have a wonderful cruise through the backwaters from Alleppey on a houseboat. We had a small boat with 2 crew and us and enjoyed sailing down the river taking in all the sights, including some wonderful birds. We had 3 meals aboard, we had lunch once we had sailed away from the mooring - grilled kingfish and some accompanying curries - delicious! We stopped at a church and had a tour from the captain (Joseph) and walked through his home village where there were many shops, which I think many of his friends owned so we were prospective customers! We only succumbed to one (I know people have to make a living but you can’t buy everything!) During our cruise to our overnight morning we were treated to tea/coffee and banana fritters which were good! Then we stopped at our overnight mooring, which allowed us to have a little walk - thanks to Joseph, then back for dinner, which was chicken curry and some side dishes - it was all so good! We had taken wine onboard since they don’t have it there but could probably get it if you want it. We then retired to bed, quite early, but with the darkness and mozzies there is little else to do and we were due up by 6:30’for a shower for casting off again at 7:30 to return to our driver. No problem waking up early due to the temple call to prayer at 5am (if your ear happens to be tuned to it - my other half slept through it!) Lovely return trip and some more memories made. I probably wouldn’t go overnight again but it is well worth the experience and the joy of seeing so much life - wild and human - was a privilege!
Wonderful!! thank you for a detailed tour in Alleppey backwater tour in houseboat.
